Prayer for Dee and Her Family

Dear Readers,

Dee has asked me to inform you that her mother is about to pass away and therefore Dee will not be posting Part 3 of the Waydown Workshop this afternoon. Your prayers for Dee and her family are greatly appreciated in this, their time of sorrow.

Update: It has been about 90 minutes since I posted the above information and Dee has just contacted me to ask that I let everyone know that her mother has passed away.

Thank you,
Todd

Thank you for letting us know about Dee’s mother, Todd. And we can wait for her post — while I’m looking forward to Dee’s post, she and her family come first.

I’m praying for Dee and her family….

  2. I’m so sorry, too, Dee.
I hope all of you and your family and friends being comfort to one another. May you and your family find comfort, peace and happiness from the years….. decades…. of wonderful memories that you have to share and treasure.

May God bless your family, and give you the energy and stamina to do what needs to be done. Take time to rest and reflect. As others have said, we can wait.

  3. Dear Dee,

May God grant your mother rest in a place of light, and the fullness of his kingdom. Memory eternal.

Allow yourself as much time as you need for everything, including getting back to the blog.

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of my mother’s passing.

Much love to you & family-
    Dana

    Dana,

It’s coming up on 20 years since my father’s passing too, and today would be his 102nd birthday. And nearly 3 years since my mother’s. Where did the years go?

I like the blessing that you have in your tradition: “Memory eternal.” Amen.

  5. Catholic Gate-Crasher,

    Agreed.

It’s almost 14 years since my Dad went, and over 16 years since my Mum did so. My Dad would be 109 now and my Mum 102.

We no longer have ties in the town where they are buried. I’m about to arrange my burial in this town where the family never had ties; the fruit of being enterprising and scattering when young.

At two of my recent few churches, I’ve been the only over 45 or the only under 85. Who is interested in the time? Each of us bears witness to what God saw.

Thank you Dee for your inspiration.

  6. Dee, this was a song at our church today. I thought of you and your family as I listened to the lyrics of “Center Of It All” …

There’s a different kind of peace
In the middle of the storm
There’s a different kind of strength
When the weakness makes us strong
There’s a different kind of healing
That cures the longing in our soul
And it’s a different kind of hope
More than we see it’s who we know

We will praise You in the center
Praise You in the center of it all
    The center of it all
    Every valley every victory
You are with us in the center of it all
    The center of it all
