My daughter is visiting us, and our family is celebrating her birthday and planning for my son’s upcoming wedding in October. I am so sorry, but this is a repeat.

A Morning Prayer link from the Syrian Clementine Liturgy link

O God, Who are the unsearchable abyss of peace, the ineffable sea of love,
the fountain of blessings, and the bestower of affection,
Who sends peace to those that receive it; open to us this day the sea of Your love,
and water us with the plenteous streams from the riches of Your grace.
Make us children of quietness, and heirs of peace. Kindle in us the fire of Your love;
sow in us Your fear; strengthen our weakness by Your power;
bind us closely to You and to each other in one firm bond of unity;
for the sake of Jesus Christ.
Amen

A prayer link of Basil of Caesarea (329-379) link

Steer the ship of my life, good Lord, to your quiet harbour,
where I can be safe from the storms of sin and conflict.
Show me the course I should take. Renew in me the gift of discernment,
so that I can always see the right direction in which I should go.
And give me the strength and the courage to choose the right course,
even when the sea is rough and the waves are high,
knowing that through enduring hardship and danger in your name we shall find comfort and peace.
Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.

This hymn is the first one I heard when I became a Christian at the age of 17. It brings back so many memories and the many paths I have traveled to get to TWW.

Benediction link

Through the dark hours of this night
protect and surround us,
Father, Son and Spirit, Three.
Forgive the ill that we have done.
Forgive the pride that we have shown.
Forgive the words that have caused harm
that we might sleep peaceably,
and rise refreshed to do your will.
Through the dark hours of this night
protect and surround us,
Father, Son and Spirit, Three
Amen

  1. Absolutely no need to apologize for repeats! Your E-Church is much appreciated.

    Enjoy the birthday celebration and the wedding planning!

    Yes! And this is an excellent selection. Thx, Dee.

  3. Ava Aaronson,

    Also agreed. And thank you for taking the time to post. The songs & prayers are worth it even if I don’t listen to a repeat sermon. I also want to thank you again for featuring Park Street church. I have gone back and listened to the summer series on the Psalms, from their evening service. I love it. Makes me want to move to Boston, lol.

  4. Isaac Newton, one of the greatest minds to ever come out of The Enlightenment didn’t think that belief in God was irrational.
