A Methodist prayer for the beginning of Lent.
Living God, we cry out for the renewal of life in your Church.
Cause your Church to become everything Jesus died and rose again to make her.
We appeal to your never-failing love.
Empower us to turn us from folly and toward the way of salvation.
Take us from dryness to a time of refreshing. Take us from ashes to fire.
And through a revived and Christ-focused Church,
may your glory dwell in our cities and throughout our land.
In Jesus we pray.
Amen.
Church of England Lenten prayer
Almighty and everlasting God,
you hate nothing that you have made
and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent:
create and make in us new and contrite hearts
that we, worthily lamenting our sins
and acknowledging our wretchedness,
may receive from you, the God of all mercy,
perfect remission and forgiveness;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
Prayer for Lent link
God of wilderness and water,
your Son was baptized and tempted as we are.
Guide us through this season,
that we may not avoid struggle,
but open ourselves to blessing,
through the cleansing depths of repentance
and the heaven-rending words of the Spirit.
Amen.
Benediction: The Aaronic Blessing (What I wish for you this week)
The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace” (Num. 6:24–26)

Thank you, Dee.
For all the TWW community, I wanted to share this tweet thread by Diane Langberg on Palm Sunday. I’ve never before had the events of that day connected like this. (You don’t have to have a Twitter account to read things on Twitter.)
