Welcome to a Gathering of EChurch@Wartburg
Here is our Order of Worship
An Anglican Prayer of the New Year link
O God of new beginnings and wonderful surprises, thank you for the gift of a new year.
May it be a time of grace for me, a time to grow in faith and love,
a time to renew my commitment to following Your Son, Jesus.
May it be a year of blessing for me, a time to cherish my family and friends,
a time to renew my efforts at work, a time to embrace my faith more fully.
Walk with me, please, in every day and every hour of this new year,
that the light of Christ might shine through me, in spite of my weaknesses and failings.
Above all, may I remember this year that I am a pilgrim on the sacred path to You.
Amen.
Collect from the Church of England link
Almighty God,
in Christ you make all things new:
transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace,
and in the renewal of our lives
make known your heavenly glory;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
Luke 6:24-26 (NASB Bible Gateway)
But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full.
Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.
Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.
A Prayer for the New Year link
Lord,
At the beginning of this new year, I offer you my life.
Come take my voice, may the words I speak be filled with encouragement and goodness.
Come take my hands, may the work they create be generous and giving.
Come take my feet, may the journeys I walk be led by your Spirit within.
Come take my life Lord, for I love your goodness, your kindness and your leading.
Amen.
A Benediction from the Prayer Book for Australia link
Loving God, we thank you for hearing our prayers,
feeding us with your word,
and encouraging us in our meeting together.
Take us and use us
to love and serve you, and all people,
in the power of your Spirit
and in the name of your Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
