Morning Prayer to God the Holy Trinity — St Basil the Great (330–379 AD) link

As I rise from sleep I thank You, O Holy Trinity, for through Your great goodness and patience You were not angered with me, an idler and sinner,
nor have You destroyed me in my sins, but have shown Your usual love for men, and when I was prostrate in despair,
You raised me to keep the morning watch and to glorify Your power.
And now enlighten my mind’s eye and open my mouth to study Your words and understand Your commandments
and do Your will and sing to You in heartfelt adoration and praise Your Most Holy Name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
now and ever, and to the ages of ages.
Amen.

Prayer of Clement c. 96 link

We ask you, Master, be our helper and defender.
Rescue those of our number in distress; raise up the fallen; assist the needy; heal the sick;
turn back those of your people who stray; feed the hungry; release our captives;
revive the weak; encourage those who lose heart.
Let all the nations realize that you are the only God, that Jesus Christ is your Child,
and that we are your people and the sheep of your pasture.
Amen

Prayer to God the Father — St Ambrose of Milan (337–397 AD) link

O Lord, who has mercy upon all, take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me the fire of Your Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore You,
a heart to delight in You,
to follow and to enjoy You,
for Christ’s sake.

LInk to Daniel 6 NIV

(Note from Dee: Wade and I disagree on the age of the earth. I am TE/OE. That does not affect my friendship with him nor my ability to learn from him. This is a good series on Daniel. As you know, Wade will be leaving Emmanuel Enid in the near future and I am working on getting some awesome(and, perhaps, unusual) people to do the sermons.

(Hope you like this one.)

Benediction link

Go into your week
with your ears pitched
to the sound of God’s voice calling your name.
Go into your week
with your eyes peeled
for the face of Jesus in unexpected places.
Go into your week
with your soul poised
to receive the Spirit of God,
the Spirit of Peace.
Amen
