A New Year’s Prayer link

Come, Holy Spirit,
Spirit of the Risen Christ, be with us today and always.
Be our Light, our Guide, and our Comforter.
Be our Strength, our Courage, and our Sanctifier.
May this new year be a time of deep spiritual growth for us,
A time of welcoming your graces and gifts,
A time for forgiving freely and unconditionally,
A time for growing in virtue and goodness.

Come, Holy Spirit,
Be with us today and always.
Amen

Prayer for the Poor and Neglected from The Book of Common Prayer link

Almighty and most merciful God,
we remember before you all poor and neglected persons whom it would be easy for us to forget:
the homeless and the destitute,
the old and the sick,
and all who have none to care for them.
Help us to heal those who are broken in body or spirit,
and to turn their sorrow into joy.
Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son,
who for our sake became poor, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Scripture Reading:  1 Corinthians 3:16 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

The Lord’s Prayer link

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen

Benediction – Numbers 6:24-26 link

The Lord bless you, and keep you:
The Lord make his face shine upon you
and be gracious unto you:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you,
and give you peace.
Amen

  1. Wade,

Thanks so much for this wonderful sermon! What an inspiring message as we begin the New Year!!! Hoping many in our TWW community will take a few minutes to listen. It will be well worth their time.

  2. Where is the link to sermon? Just found your site. This is great for those of us no longer welcome to false church.

Very inspiring. Regarding “3:16” verses, a friend did a study and read all of the 3:16 verses in the Bible (where there are at least 3 chapters in a book), and found a wonderful compilation. In any case, thanks, Pastor Wade.

  4. I have been visiting with my dad in the hospital this past couple of days. He is still pretty sick, but improving daily. If all goes well, he will be transferred to a nursing home this week. It’s hard to see a loved one so sick.

  5. @ ljm:
Welcome to TWW! If you will click on the video from Emmanuel Enid (The Glory Within), you can watch our EChurch pastor Wade Burleson, who serves a church in Enid, Oklahoma. He is a wonderful friend to Dee and me.

  6. Please be praying for me that I find the right church for me. Any recommendations in the Nashville, TN area?

  7. Thanks, Deb (Wanda) for the kind words.

On a side note, I was reading “Huffington Post” and saw Wartburg Watch mentioned three times, and came and read the article – wow. When will churches learn transparency and honesty are always best.

Thanks, Deb and Dee, for your Kingdom work.

  8. I debated posting this for hours but I figured what the heck. I am going in for a lower back procedure tomorrow. Im hoping it all goes well. take care.
