Here is our Order of Worship

The Collect of the Day link

Almighty God,
you have broken the tyranny of sin
and have sent the Spirit of your Son into our hearts
whereby we call you Father:
give us grace to dedicate our freedom to your service,
that we and all creation may be brought
to the glorious liberty of the children of God;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

A Prayer for Trust by St. Ignatius of Loyola link

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
Amen

Scripture Reading: Luke 18:18-27 (NASB Bible Gateway)

The Rich Young Ruler

A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments, ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’” And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. And Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!  For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” They who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.”

LUTHERAN PRAYER FOR DISCERNMENT link

God of grace and glory,
You are the giver of all good and perfect gifts.
As we seek to know and do your will,
open our ears to Listen, our eyes to See,
our hearts to Love, our minds to Learn,
our lips to Speak, our hands to Serve.
You have walked with us in the wilderness, sheltered us in the storms,
and fed us in our hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Guide us on this journey of discernment, that your will would be made clear
to us, that your grace would abound, that your glory would be revealed;
in your holy name we pray.
AMEN

A Methodist Blessing

Romans 5:13 link

May the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
so that you may abound in hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen

  1. 10,000 Reasons ( Bless my Soul ) was just what I needed to hear this AM. It is my prayer to be singing his praise when the sun goes down.

Amongst other physical issues, I got Shingles, and terrible neuralgia pain with it. Been painfully difficult to function. Praying neuralgia goes away soon.

For those over 60 , think about getting the vaccine. Trust me out don’t want Shingles.

  2. I have a few compressed disks L4/5 it really hurts. I have been able to get by without needing or asking for any help at all and I am thankful for that. I am a bit worried about the future if I do need some type of help.
