Welcome to a Gathering of EChurch@Wartburg
On This Glorious Resurrection Sunday!
Here Is Our Order of Worship
Easter Prayer of St. Hippolytus (AD 190-236)
Christ is Risen: The world below lies desolate
Christ is Risen: The spirits of evil are fallen
Christ is Risen: The angels of God are rejoicing
Christ is Risen: The tombs of the dead are empty
Christ is Risen indeed from the dead,
the first of the sleepers,
Glory and power are his forever and ever
Amen

How blessed is this day, when earth and heaven are joined and humankind is reconciled to God!
May the light of Jesus shine continually to drive away all darkness.
May Christ, the Morning Star who knows no setting, find his light ever burning in our hearts
-he who gives his light to all creation, and who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.

O Lord,
the Resurrection of Your Son
has given us new life and renewed hope.
Help us to live as new people
in pursuit of the Christian ideal.
Grant us the wisdom to know what we must do,
the will to want to do it,
the courage to undertake it,
the perseverance to continue to do it,
and the strength to complete it.
Amen.
Scripture Reading: Luke 15:25-32 (NASB Bible Gateway)
“Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be. And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.’ But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and yet you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your wealth with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’ And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’”

Go into your week
with your ears pitched
to the sound of God’s voice calling your name.
Go into your week
with your eyes peeled
for the face of Jesus in unexpected places.
Go into your week
with your soul poised
to receive the Spirit of God,
the Spirit of Peace.
Amen!

Happy Easter, all! First, I will share from the German song, O du fröliche(O thou merry): “O du fröhliche, o du selige,
Gnadenbringende Osterzeit!
Welt lag in Banden, Christ ist erstanden:
Freue, freue dich, o Christenheit!”
In English, “O thou merry, O thou blessed,/Grace-bringing Easter-time!/World lay in bondage,/Christ is Risen:/Rejoice, rejoice thee, O Christendom!”
Χριστός ανέστη!(Christos anestē!Gr.) Христос воскрес!(Christis voskres!Rus.) Christ is Risen!

“…..O Death, where is your sting?
O Hell, where is your victory?
Christ is risen, and you are overthrown.
Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen.
Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice.
Christ is risen, and life reigns.
Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in the grave.
For Christ, being risen from the dead, is become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
To Him be glory and dominion unto ages of ages. Amen.”
(from the Easter sermon of St. John Chrysostom)

He is Risen.
I don’t have an iron-clad Euclidean style proof that he is.
I simply choose to believe that he is.
Faith to me is not certainty, it is hope.
Messiah risen, his very literal and bodily person is the only hope I have.

If you did it would not require faith. Atheists likewise have no iron-clad proof that God does/can not exist. It must also be believed by faith as well.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE 🙂 Happy Easter!
Three favorite quotes, AND a beloved poem:
“My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust?”
(C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity)
“For those who understand, no explanation is necessary.
For those who do not understand no explanation is possible?”
(Thomas Aquinas)
““I didn’t need to understand the hypostatic unity of the Trinity; I just needed to turn my life over to whoever came up with redwood trees.” (Annie Lamott)
‘The Convert’ (G. K. Chesterton)
‘After one moment when I bowed my head
And the whole world turned over and came upright,
And I came out where the old road shone white.
I walked the ways and heard what all men said,
Forests of tongues, like autumn leaves unshed,
Being not unlovable but strange and light;
Old riddles and new creeds, not in despite
But softly, as men smile about the dead
The sages have a hundred maps to give
That trace their crawling cosmos like a tree,
They rattle reason out through many a sieve
That stores the sand and lets the gold go free:
And all these things are less than dust to me
Because my name is Lazarus and I live.”

I don't mean to post here but apparently my son's perpetrator's mother is posting on social media about Dee setting up the gofundme for us and that I scammed people here out of $13000 dollars! That I'm crying about the whole world is against me! Apparently she's following me and is clearly bitter and angry.
I have yet to get an apology from this woman – Debbie Haeittch Cooper – for her sick son raping my child!!!! She raised him, and she knew what he was plain and simple! No Debbie, I'm not scamming anyone. There would never have been a gofundme had your teenager not RAPED my child!
There wouldn't be a gofundme had Dee not set it up, and there wouldn't have been a gofundme had you and the sick church I had been a member of not taken all of my income; yet they financially support you and your 2nd husband.
I'm so disgusted by her posting about me when it was her kid who hurt my child some people have a lot of nerve.

@ Christiane:
Thank you, Christiane. These are all good, but the Annie Lamott quote is delicious.

Hi Shauna,
Please report her conduct to the district attorney that prosecuted the case. The D.A.’s office needs to take action, including going back to court and getting an injunction/restraining order.
