Here Is Our Order of Worship

A Prayer of Ambrose (c 339-97) link

O Lord, who hast mercy upon all, take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me the fire of thy Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore thee,
a heart to delight in thee,
to follow and to enjoy thee,
for Christ’s sake.
In Jesus name,
Amen

A Prayer for Trust by St. Ignatius of Loyola link

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
Amen

Scripture Reading:  Luke 7:36-39 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Now one of the Pharisees was requesting Him to dine with him, and He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.  And there was a woman in the city who was a sinner; and when she learned that He was reclining at the table in the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume, and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears, and kept wiping them with the hair of her head, and kissing His feet and anointing them with the perfume. Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of person this woman is who is touching Him, that she is a sinner.”

Prayer of St. Benedict link

O gracious and holy Father,
give us wisdom to perceive you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to behold you,
a heart to meditate upon you,
and a life to proclaim you;
through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

Benediction

Jude 1:24-25 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

  1. As “Satin” (aka Dee), daughter of “Stan” (sic), would say:

“God always comes first in my life.” And to “God” – First Place/The Gold.

Anybody seen Nick lately? I haven’t seen him in ages! I wonder how things are there across The Pond.

Let me see, didn’t Nick promise his brothers and sisters in Christ, a nice big batch of Yorkshire Pudding for us to eat?

    Sincerely,

“Velour”, Sister in Christ to “Satin”

“My heart will rejoice, and my tongue will be  glad; moreover also my very flesh shall rest in hope!

…for it is You Lord, who have made known to me ‘the ways of life'((TM) ; it is You that shall make me ‘full of joy’ (R) with your countenance…”

Please Lord, hide me under da shadow of your wings, that the cloud(s) of evil might pass me unharmed…

    …deliver me Oh, Lord!
