Deb and I are blessed this Christmas. The two of us are constantly telling our family and local friends of the wonderful, intelligent, funny, and theologically astute people who inhabit this blog. You have given meaning to this new season of our lives. Thank you for giving us the gift of your thoughts and your lives. You are never, ever taken for granted.

When we return, we will begin an occasional series on stories from SGM. Some of these are stories that have not yet been told in public. They are disturbing.  As SGM faces a looming lawsuit, we believe it is imperative that people, including the embarrassingly silent "Friends of CJ", understand precisely what was allegedly going on behind closed doors. 

We will return on Wednesday. We hope you will enjoy these videos.

The first is a song that we heard spoken by Wade Burleson when we visited with him last year. 

The second is a beautiful rendition of Once in Royal David's City performed at King's College in Cambridge. 

Finally, I saw this first posted on Justin Taylor's blog . It is a humorous rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas by the University of Mobile. All science fiction fans should enjoy this.

    It was only about an inch (t put it in American terms) which isn’t remarkable, but it just hasn’t happened on Christmas Day since 1942! The only wet Christmases I can remember were either just drizzly or a thunderstorm at the end of a hot day. But it’s Boxing Day now, and fine again, and we’re expecting a lovely 25C (77F)day tomorrow when we’re doing a tall ship cruise on Sydney Harbour.     During dinner it started snowing hard– the first real snow here we’ve had. I went outside to take daughter and her kids home, and toddler grandson said, “It Christmas!
