PATTERSON – INSTRUMENTAL IN THE LIVES OF THE CANERS

First there was Darrell Gilyard, now Ergun Caner  Is anyone surprised that both have been protégés of Paige Patterson?

When the president of Truett-McConnell College (Ergun’s younger brother Emir) was installed on March 23, 2009, Patterson made the following remark during his brief address:

The biggest problem in the United States today is the lack of integrity.”

Guess what…actions speak MUCH LOUDER than words!!!

According to The Christian Index article entitled “Truett-McConnell welcomes Caner”, Patterson has been “instrumental in the lives of both Caner and his brother Ergun.”

Paige really knows how to pick ‘em, doesn’t he?

Patterson concluded his comments by stating that Caner’s greatest challenge will be to teach students “to value personal integrity because our nation’s very future depends on it.”

“Program personalities also speaking at the event included Ergun Caner and GBC Executive Director J. Robert White,” according to the article which you can read at this link:

http://www.christianindex.org/5344.article

Can you imagine what the Muslim community is saying about Christians in the wake of Ergun Caner’s outrageous lies? Liberty U — the world is watching you!

I have just gotten back from a four-day stay in New York City.  My daughter and her fellow ensemble members experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity – singing in Carnegie Hall.  They, along with the chaperones which included my husband and me, saw the Lion King, ate at “The View” restaurant, visited Ellis Island, walked through Central Park, saw Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Ground Zero, viewed the city at night from atop of the Empire State Building, just to name a few fun activities!  The ensemble even had their picture taken with “The Donald” in Trump Tower

Dee and I will be covering the Caner saga a bit longer (possibly through next week), so stay tuned…

Until Thursday’s post, take a look at the YouTube video of "showman" Ergun Caner.  Here’s the explanation of the video:

This is a Video of Liberty Theological Seminary President Dr. Ergun Caner getting tazed. He did this to illustrate the power that little compromises in our lives have to open us up to destructive power…”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t2rOJISP5E&feature=related

Here's the tasering from a different angle:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agjV0tbktvQ&feature=related

We believe that when a Christian leader lies, it’s far more destructive than any taser gun. Ergun Caner compromised the truth, and his lies will have a lasting effect…

One final comment:

Did anyone notice that only one of the probes from the taser attached to Caner's body?  If you watch the second video carefully, you'll see one of them fall to the floor.  After Caner gets up, the guy who fired the taser reaches down and picks up the unattached probe, then he walks over to Caner and removes the other probe from his back.

Now let's take a look at some other examples of tasering.  Pay close attention to the third person in the following video.  You can clearly see BOTH probes attached to this guy's back, and BOTH are removed.

Obviously, a probe penetrating the skin would really hurt, but how much of a shock would only one probe give? Any experts out there who can answer this question?

PATTERSON – INSTRUMENTAL IN THE LIVES OF THE CANERS — 19 Comments

  1. What more can you expect from the Georgia Baptist Convention and their leadership?

Robert White really knows how to pick them, doesn’t he…….

    Mike Everson,
    Gerald Harris
    Emir Caner
    and……………………..

it goes on and on and on and on……………………….

  2. Doug,

As soon as I read your comment, Galatians 6:7 came to mind:

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”

    God’s Word to the wise…

  3. We may not see them reap what they have sowed here on Earth, but I believe it will happen one day…………

I know what Mike Everson did to many (including me) has me really wondering how this man sleeps at night,

And now he is a consultant to other Pastors….wow

And did you see the editorial by Gerald Harris of that propaganda paper “the Christian Index” about good ole boys helping others is wrong?

    Here is the link? http://www.christianindex.org/6309.article

What was Gerald trying to tell us because this is EXACTLY what is happening with his Baptist bunch today!!! Amazing!!!

  4. “First there was Darrell Gilyard, now Ergun Caner… Is anyone surprised that both have been protégés of Paige Patterson? ”

Of course not. Anyone who has been tracking Patterson for the last 25 years knows he is one of the most low down phonies out there. He has been one step ahead of the ax for years. He has been saved time and time again by the big boys like Rogers, Stanely, Young, Sr, etc.

Patterson would be a washed up nobody if they had not intervened for him several times. One must ask why? Because Patterson knows where all the bodies are buried in the SBC. And they went along with it and know it.

It is like having Boss Hogg as a seminary president.

  5. I have been investigating what happens if only one probe attaches to the body. Here’s some interesting information I found:

    http://www.beststungun.com/advanced-taser-m18l.html

    “What if the probes miss?

The TASER system can work if one probe hits a human and the second falls on grass or dirt as the power may connect through the ground. However, the results depreciate substantially if the second probe lands on concrete, asphalt or not all on wood floors.”

  6. Doug,
You are so wrong. Dr. white is above board. You my buddy are wrong. Vengence is mine sayeth the Lord. Not Doug’s.

  7. Brob

Why don’t you explain exactly why Doug Pittman is wrong? I had the opportunity to meet with him last year and found him to be informed with much evidence for his concerns. I have actually seen some of his evidence and have considered publishing some of it. There are some very interesting ways that people’s hard earned tithes are being used. I wonder if granny would be pleased to see money that she thought was going to missions being used to jack up the life style of some of the big boys.

I have a question for you. Why are some of these people being hired by the GBC and related organizations? Some appear to have “issues,” to put it graciously. Tomorrow I will take a look at Ergun’s brother, Emir.

Doug feels like many of us who have been startled, let down, punished, or persecuted for speaking the truth to those who have lost their calling. Be careful about the word “vengeance”, brother. Exposing that which is hidden in darkness is a mandate for all Christians.Exposure does not mean “vengeance.”And sometimes God uses the little guy to speak truth and light to the big boys. Remember David and Goliath? Do they still teach that?

  8. Thank you for your thought provoking blog. Can you please share scripture related to exposing that which is hidden in darkness as a mandate for all Christians? Thanks.

  9. JT asked:
“Can you please share scripture related to exposing that which is hidden in darkness as a mandate for all Christians?”

This is an excellent question and may be the topic of an upcoming blog post.

Let me begin by sharing Ephesians 4:25, which I believe mandates that all Christians should speak truth to our neighbors.

“Therefore, putting away lying, ‘Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,’ for we are members of one another.”

Here’s an excerpt from Matthew Henry’s Commentary on this verse from Ephesians:

“It is the character of God’s people that they are children who will not lie, who dare not lie, who hate and abhor lying. All who have grace make conscience of speaking the truth, and would not tell a deliberate lie for the greatest gain and benefit to themselves. The reason here given for veracity is, “We are menbers one of another.” Truth is a debt we owe to one another; and, if we love one another, we shall not deceive nor lie one to another. We belong to the same society or body, which falsehood or lying tends to dissolve; and therefore we should avoid it, and speak the truth. Observe, Lying is a very great sin, a peculiar violation of the obligations which Christians are under, and very injurious and hurtful to Christian society.”

I believe Christians are obligated to hold each other accountable, especially when it comes to the sin of lying, because much damage is done to the body of Christ and to our Christian witness to a lost world when lying is tolerated.

Are you suggesting that we remain silent on this very serious matter?

  10. Brob;

Do you really want me to get started again? Ask Those within the G B C who know of me (Robert White, Wayne Robertson, Mike Everson, Gerald Harris, and those within the Baptist Mafia – et all) if they want to lite that fire again?

    Then get back to me.

I know of them and their tactics very well my friend.

I will keep this simple. As I have said to many who question what I post and expose –

    Email me and lets chat
    doug@dougpittman.com

And JT you ask “Can you please share scripture related to exposing that which is hidden in darkness as a mandate for all Christians”

    Here it is for me:

    PROVERBS CHAPTER 3
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

When a Pastor, who is Chairman of the Executive Committee for the state of Ga, tells his deacon disciples to tell lies to a church and I know it is a lie – I will always stand up for my Church….The fight was on –

You better be careful questioning someone who really knows what he is talking about!

They took my meekness for a weakness – but they found out differently.

    Need I say more?

  11. JT, Study 1 Corinthians 5 very closely. It is sad that so many Christian leaders focus their sermons on the immoral “world”. But I see it as they are teaching folks to focus on the world because it makes us look so much better if we focus on the world that we think is so much worse than we are in condoning homosexuality, divorce, etc.

But that is NOT what the Word teaches. Paul makes it clear: We are NOT to judge the world. We are to judge those in the Body. Paul was rebuking them for not dealing with a situation in that Body. Paul advised them to kick the person out so he could be SAVED! And he includes a list.

The bottomline is that Jesus Christ will present a PURE BRIDE to Himself. Not a perfect Bride but a PURE ONE. That should give us pause what we are willing to ignore, excuse and in many places defend evil in Christendom. And what is worse, we really know very little about many “Christian” leaders personally. they are people on stages, behind closed doors. That was never meant to be.

Here are some more passages for your consideration when thinking of these things going on IN the Body of Christ. Are we to teach the hard truths or not? And do not make the mistake of thinking these verses are talking about those who have not professed to be followers of Christ.

    Eph 5: 1-21
    Col 3: 1-17
    Rev 21;5-8

How can we expect our leaders, who have NOT been convicted of these hard truths themselves and do not seem to fear God at all, to be able to teach others?

Light is a disinfectant for a Pure Bride.

Here is one of my favorite passages because God’s economy is nothing like the worlds and our ‘great’ leaders just might be receiving their reward “here”:

26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”[c] 1 Corin

  12. JT

I am going to go out on a limb here.Christians and non-Christians alike have a sense of truth. When lies occur, it is considered a violation of the trust of those leaders were called to serve. Do I need to mention names? Nixon, Clinton, Haggard etc. What about the boys who were raped by Roman Catholic clergy? Worse yet, what about boys who were raped by pastors in the SBC? Read our blog or that of stopbaptistspredators.org.

Bet you weren’t thrilled with what they did. Bet you even wanted Clinton impeached for what he did. Bet you shake your head at the Roman Catholic priests, as well. Do you actually propose letting them keep doing things that violate trust? Do you ever weep for the children violated by members of the clergy? I do because I know two boys who were. Do you think that is what God intends?

Here is my guess. I admit that I could be wrong but maybe I have had one too many cups of coffee this morning. Even if I am wrong, let this serve as a wake up call to others who are sitting in the pews like silent, fearful sheep. You have done something or know someone that has done something that is being held privately. You are desperately looking for ways to justify keeping quiet and letting things remain status quo.Maybe you used the term “gossip.” Perhaps you like “respect authority?”Brother, those terms are not meant to keep sin private. Period!

Jesus never minced words. Look at the woman at the well. He could have let that little indiscretion (lots of hookups) go unspoken. Maybe it would have been nicer? Why upset the apple cart? Why gossip? What about the Pharisees that he called snakes?Tsk, tsk, such strong language. Shouldn’t authority be respected? Why did the Epistles mention indiscretions like a guy sleeping with his step mother? Surely that could have been handled discretely and not written down for time and eternity.

In fact, your question is so important, I think Deb and I should do a post or two on silent sin. There are many who come to this blog who have been there, caught like deer in the headlights, unable to believe that such nonsense was going on. Then, when they confronted it, they were the sinners. Right Doug, Tom, BBC,? We have seen this process and are crying “foul.” And the entrenched bureaucracy is startled and defensive. They should be.They have been hiding a lot and never thought that the sheep would wake up.

Remember this. TWW is watching and evaluating.

  13. Dee,

Thanks you for allowing all to voice their opinions on the many subjects we all should be paying attention to.

You know, it will be 3 years on May 2 that Mike and his demon deacon disciples did what I call “the unpardonable sin.” This is when I started receiving numerous calls from long time church members saying that Morris Roper had brought to the floor of the church during a “special called conference” at the recommendation of Mike Everson at that time the Chairman of the Executive committee for the Georgia Baptist Convention, a vote to have me removed from a church that I loved and a church that I had been a member of for over 48 year (my whole life). Remember, I had left this church 5 FIVE months earlier and had NO contact with anyone in leadership for over 2 months and not spoken any ill will or negativity about the leadership at all. Also remember, I had no phone calls, letters, notices, gossip, smoke signals – well you get the picture – NOTHING advising me of their intentions. They just did it. They ask me NO questions, did not have any conferences, or any meetings with me at all – NOTHING, they just did it.

Then it started. I was sitting in my home with my family and we were actually praying about and considering joining another church that I felt would be beneficial to us and the church. I was shocked. Literally stunned to hear stunned members weeping about what these hypocrites had done.

I can not tell you the rage that hit me when I began getting many many messages about this action against me and my family that May 2 night. I marched right over to Morris Ropers home (Chairman of the Demon Deacons and Disciples of Mike Everson) and brother it was on…..and on and on…..

This is when I came up with my website and exposed the real issues and answered everyones questions that were now being asked….

Until you have faced this kind of “unpardonable sin” from men who do these types of things in an attempt to silence TRUTHS – like catching Mike Everson’s son Jarrod Everson ( now the pastor at Deenwood Baptist Church in Waycross GA) viewing PORNOGRAPHY on the churches computer system, him then running to his brother Chad Everson church to hide out and then the brother NOT disclosing this PORN issue by his brother to HIS church membership – and many other issues within the G B C, then you have NO idea what it is like.

I really understand what Tom has gone through with the ban issued to him and his family and others who have gone through similar circumstances. You DO NOT do this to people.

It is not easy to be shunned by church family, friends, and other acquaintances whom you have known for years just because of what some arrogant, self centered, power hungry ( I will stop before I get to ticked again)…..man did in order to silence TRUTHS.

    As I said on another blog;

Imagine what it would be like if we all just gave up researching and exposing these deceivers and let these Pharisees do as they please.

I know many of you within the Baptist Mafia would be thrilled, but then would we be doing GODS will for our lives.

Someone has to hold them accountable since the church can not, will not and does not…….

  14. Doug,

I was surprised to learn that Jarrod Everson is now pastoring at Deenwood Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia. I guess it helps tremendously to have a dad in high places at the GBC.

Pornography is highly addictive, and I sincerely hope Jarrod’s congregation is well-informed about his past indiscretions at Prays Mill Baptist.

We’ll keep our eyes on him…

  15. To all who are reading this comment from Doug,

About 9 months ago I took a road trip and met with Doug and his friends at a Cracker Barrel somewhere in Georgia. I heard their stories and was moved and shocked. What happened to them at their church is beyond comprehension. We will be posting the archives from this saga which we called, The Devil Went Down to Georgia shortly.

  16. Yeah, the DAD Mike Everson is a Consultant in the Swamps of South GA, aka Southeastern Region, for the Georgia Baptist Convention under the direction of guess who….J Robert White. J Robert White hired him even after what he had done to many of his church members.

Remember, Mike also threw out a long time member for literally just standing up in opposition and voting NO on his recommendation to throw out another member for questioning Deacons and others within the church about Jarrod’s PORN issues and other issues of her concern.

Doug was his former Treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Awana worker, and friend and was removed along with his 9 month pregnant wife – who was at home on doctor ordered bed rest and a wonderful choir member – AND their child who was in the nursery on her 4th Birthday who remember it well even today……along with all Linda Dupree’s relatives who stood with her voting NO.

He threw them out just like an umpire would at a baseball game…out of here and the deacons said NOTHING!!!

Guess the anniversary of this “unpardonable sin” has sparked me some……….

My book “PROVOKED” Will detail many other things that will shock all those who support those within “the Baptist Mafia” – I promise and many others who care what happens within the church inner circles…

  17. Thank you to all of you who responded along with the scripture references. I do think Christians are called to be both salt and light and to speak the truth and do not want to give the impression that I do not. Your input related to the scriptural basis for this has been edifying.

  18. Sorry. I did not see this as a request for an answer so here is your scripture and…..
