One Heart Rock

Here is our Order of Worship

A Prayer of Ambrose (c 339-97) link

O Lord, who hast mercy upon all, take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me the fire of thy Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore thee,
a heart to delight in thee,
to follow and to enjoy thee,
for Christ’s sake.
In Jesus name,
Amen

A Prayer of Dietrich Bonhoeffer link

O God, early in the morning I cry to you.
Help me to pray
And to concentrate my thoughts on you:
I cannot do this alone.
In me there is darkness,
But with you there is light;
I am lonely, but you do not leave me;
I am feeble in heart, but with you there is help;
I am restless, but with you there is peace.
In me there is bitterness, but with you there is patience;
I do not understand your ways,
But you know the way for me…
Restore me to liberty,
And enable me to live now
That I may answer before you and before me.
Lord, whatever this day may bring,
Your name be praised.
Amen

Scripture Reading:  Luke 22:1-13 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Preparing the Passover

Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching. The chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might put Him to death; for they were afraid of the people.

And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve. And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might betray Him to them. They were glad and agreed to give him money. So he consented, and began seeking a good opportunity to betray Him to them apart from the crowd.

Then came the first day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.  And Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”  They said to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare it?”  And He said to them, “When you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters.  And you shall say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?”’  And he will show you a large, furnished upper room; prepare it there.”  And they left and found everything just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.

The Lord’s Prayer link

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.

The Aaronic Benediction link

May the Lord bless you and keep you;
may He cause his spirit to shine on you
and be gracious to you;
May He lift up His smile on you and give you peace.
Amen

  1. I hope all goes well with the outreach. I would respectfully ask for prayer, my lower discs in my spine are having issues. I have three severely herniated disks and one is slipping causing some issues with some basic daily issues like standing walking sitting, sleeping, etc. I have been involved in some rather intense physical therapy because I am trying to avoid surgery but I am open to surgery if needed. One very kind Christian friend at my job offered to help. It made me physically ill at first when she offered and I almost hung up on her because of my past in the faith were a person outside of leadership should ever need help, no matter what. It is hard to uproot that stuff. Anyway please any prayer/good thoughts would be appreciated.

  2. Everybody has their idiosyncrasies. I have mine. I have wondered basically forever why there are different versions of ‘the Lord’s Prayer’ aka ‘the Our Father’ but I never took the time to look it up.

    So if you ever wondered, here is a short explanation from a reliable Catholic source. It seems to be fair for all sides of the issue albeit of course having its own position on the matter. I am not a Catholic but I still think this source is reliable.
