(1/2) Robert Morris Has Been Criminally Indicted

Wikipedia

This is going to be followed by a post I wrote today.

I had finished a post about Robert Morris getting civilly sued. I had to get to church for a midweek Lenten service, which I volunteered to usher. As I was rolling out the door late, I saw a text from Cindy Cleminshire. I knew this might be coming, so I about dropped my phone.

Robert Morris was just indcted on five counts of lew acts with a child under the agoe of 16.

Here is what I posted on Twitter sometime around 5:30 PM.

Finally, Cindy will see some justice. I will get all of the particulars. It appears there was a loophole in the law that should strike fear into the hearts of abusers everywhere. One never knows when a state of limitations might be overturned or temporarily lifted. An abuser should fear that something odd might be in the law and found by a diligent attorney or law enforcement officer.

For Cindy, who told her story to me in July, this has been a difficult journey. It is my prayer that justice will be served. There are still all the ins and outs of bringing Morris to trial. It is my prayer that Cindy feels the presence of Jesus, in Whom she trusts, and His peace that passes all understanding.

  1. From this article:

    https://www.texastribune.org/2025/03/12/robert-morris-texas-megachurch-indicted-sexual-abuse/

“In 2017, Morris was tapped by Gov. Greg Abbott to help support the so-called “Bathroom Bill” that sought to ban transgender people from using their preferred bathroom — in part by arguing that it would allow children to be sexually abused.”

This illustrates that a child has a higher chance of being sexually abused in a church or by a MANOGAWD than at a Transgender Public Library Story Hour. All this Evangelical hysteria about transgenders looks to be an attempt at misdirection from the real abusers and abusive institutions.

  2. I first saw this in a video from a DFW news station. They had a timeline of Christian Post publishing the story first on June 15th. Hmmm that’s not exactly as I remember it. Maybe some blog queen posted a little something on the 14th?
I do remember with clarity how the gateway proceeded that weekend with services er business as usual— totally as if nothing had happened.

  3. Satin,

I believe that they do this for one reason. News media conglomerates are panicking that bloggers are often scooping them on stories. The “stuff”. I have been hinting about actually dealing with this issue. It causes great concern when a lowly blogger with no staff (except for Todd and GBTC) knows more than they do on specific subjects.

  4. Ras al Ghul,

Please provide statistical evidence for your assertion that a child is more likely to be molested in a church setting, than in a transgender library setting.

    I don’t think it exists.

You do raise a good point on the irony of Morris being tapped to help reduce the exploitation of children seeing that he himself molested a child.

Hopefully justice is done. The civil authority is the servant of God to punish the evildoer, and molesting children is really evil.

“I’m really concerned about how much time people spend on the Internet. I’m extremely concerned about it. Extremely concerned about it; here’s one thing, just even the blogs that mention Christian leaders, and I’m one of ‘em. Praise the Lord, I’ve made the Satan, Satan’s hit list now you know” (Robert Morris, before he was scooped)

    ++++++++++++++

why make this demand? one can have a general sense of the odds just through awareness & objectivity.

i think the point was how christian culture & political rhetoric erode both of those with propaganda, even when not in collaboration.

  7. Briguy,

I think it was over-tired rhetoric on R-a-G’s part, not really making a point. In the Anglosphere, outlawing of habitual circumcision, plus a public hygiene campaign against taping (MGM) and for a return of more underwear choices, would be a start. This would gradually lead to honest logic, actual belief, less faddish homophobia from favoured institutions, and helping of all sorts of cases.

IMO the rot goes back to puritan village elders poking about newborns (in between witches) instead of listening to their mothers. The major subtext in teaching in religion is to “dare” upcomers to remain subjected to previous cruelty, to desperately uphold its continuity as “alternative” to material manoeuvring only resulting in more.

There isn’t much of a step change between i, the attitude of Mr & Mrs Long to Robert Aaron or John Ortberg to his children, ii, what was done to the morale of junior colleagues by the Rev Fletcher brothers in England, iii, the unmindset of the army of fogeys among EIC “campers” returning worse every year.

Turning us into objects by proxy because that’s what was done to them (the long incredulous secular world at length copying, after making double sure that’s really what the bad “christians” wanted). It’s of spiritual relevance to all of us, what Morris’ detailed religion sources were.

The same dynamic that keeps Hazing going from generation to generation:
“I Didn’t Have It Easy — WHY SHOULD THEY?”

Michael in UK: the unmindset of the army of fogeys among EIC “campers” returning worse every year.

Is “EIC” those “Bash Camps” associated with “Jack the Whipper” Smyth’s shtick?
