Shelter Us in Your Mercy by George Dawson, d. 1876 link
Almighty God,
the refuge of all who are distressed,
in all troubles of this mortal life
draw us to you to find comfort
in knowing your loving-kindness
and tender mercy.
Shelter us in your mercy
that the storms of life may pass over us
and not shake the peace of God within us;
through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer for Refuge and Peace by Augustine of Hippo 4th century
O God,
full of compassion,
I commit and commend myself to you,
in whom I am, and live, and know.
Be the Goal of my pilgrimage,
and my Rest by the way.
Let my soul take refuge
from the crowding turmoil of worldly thoughts
beneath the shadow of your wings.
Let my heart,
this sea of restless waves,
find peace in you, O God.
You bountifully give all good gifts.
Give those who are weary refreshing food.
Gather our distracted thoughts and powers into harmony again.
Set the prisoner free.
See, he stands at your door and knocks.
Open it to him,
that he may enter with a free step,
and be quickened by you.
For you are the Well-spring of Life,
the Light of eternal Brightness,
where the just live who love you.
Let it be to me according to your word.
Amen.
Increase in Us Faith, Hope, and Love: Leonine Sacramentary, 6th-7th
Almighty and eternal God,
increase in us faith, hope, and love.
Lead us to love what you command
so that we may obtain what you promise;
through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever.
Amen.
Benediction
Go into your week
knowing you are
loved perfectly,
saved eternally,
and empowered
as a disciple of Jesus
to share God’s love
with everyone you meet.
Amen
Thank you, Dee.
Re: writing backwards, I wonder whether it might be that he is writing “forwards” but the video is mirror-reflected through the y-axis to format it for presentation. I think that I am right in saying that raw video taken through the transparent writing surface would (if written “forwards” from his perspective) show written text left-right reversed, but subsequent “through the y-axis reflection” would reverse it back to make it look right-ways to us.
This hypothesis would imply that “in real life”, Rev. Wolfmueller is right-handed.

Really good at writing backwards?
That’s a sure sign of witchcraft.

We (or maybe it’s just “I”) seem to be obsessing on the question of “how does he write like that?”
Here’s another one:
Something that I have not previously given much thought to is that in the little movie clip with the production enterprise logo, both the camera and the wording experience a left-right inversion before flying in opposite directions out of the frame. The appearance is that the two image elements are being rotated 180 degrees about a vertical axis, but I think that it’s just a variable x-axis scaling effect, starting at +1 and ending at -1, at which point the image is inverted left/right.
This might be a hint that there is some similar manipulation (x –> -x inversion) of the main video to give the appearance that Rev. W is writing backwards. If that is indeed being done, it’s a clever effect and much nicer than looking at the back of an instructor facing away from the audience writing on a whiteboard or a chalk-board and perhaps blocking the visibility of some of what he has written, depending on where he is standing in front of the board.
——-
I hope that Dee is not dismayed by the technical speculations; mark it down to my cognitive style.
Interacting with Rev. W’s content a bit, it’s a little disconcerting to me to think that my sense of “right vs. wrong” might be so strongly influenced by the crowd I hang out with, but I suspect that it’s true. This perhaps provides a bit of extrabiblical incentive to heed the biblical admonition to exercise care in the choice of one’s companions.
