Thanks to TWW Readers, We’ve Raised $2000 for a Human Trafficking Victim Who Needs Dentures

Imagine having all of your freedoms taken away, being forced to work against your will, and constantly living under the threat of violence – in short, being forced to live as a slave. Sadly, this situation is a reality for millions of children, women, and men each year as part of the global human trafficking industry. Bill Flores

Handcuffs: often used as a symbol of human trafficking

OK, guys, you know how to make me cry!

I asked for a reckoning of the medical/dental account the week. On Friday I received a note that we had a little over $2000 in the account. Project Fight and the Salvation Army were ecstatic. I do not know how to thank you!

We will set up this dear person’s appointments this week and will be taking before and after pictures that will be posted here (with the face obscured, of course.)

My son in law is donating his services for the preparation and fitting so our only costs will be the actual charge from the denture making laboratory. I will post the exact cost but we think it will be @$700.

That means there will be money left in the fund. I plan to use the money for other situations like this one. Also, we have received requests for glasses for a couple of clients which I think we can provide as well.

Every time I provide something from your donations, I will post exactly what I spent the money on and will try to take pictures of those items and the clients (obscured) of Project Fight who received those items or care. Every penny that you contributed will go directly to the clients with NO overhead taken out and I will be accountable to all of you at TWW.

Last night, I thanked God for all of you when I went to bed. Because of you, this client will be able to apply for jobs and not be embarrassed due to their lack of teeth.

  1. we may have given the money but you Deebs are the ones who spent hours and hours arranging for this to happen.

Truly only God knows how many hours & tears you have given to TWW & other ministries.

Blessings upon blessings to you both!

I can’t speak to eye exams, but if they have an existing perscription, please consider Zenni Optical, a mail order eyeglass store with glasses from $6.99. I have used them for 10 years, and their glasses are every bit as nice as my former optician’s. I happen to be local to their US address, and my glasses arrive in about 10 days.

Thank you so much for this information. I’ve also been told about another mail order group that does them for @$10. I recently found an optometrist who is willing to do the exam for super cheap for any human trafficking victim.

If anyone out there has any other good thoughts like “Outside Observer” send them my way!!!!

  6. Dee–

please remind us of this fund from time to time so we can go back to the go fund me site….

Or maybe your GBTC can set up a link for any who want to make this a regular part of their giving?

Thanks Again for what you do!

  7. Thank you, Dee, for making these needs known & providing ways for people to help financially. Both efforts enable blessings for both the receivers & givers. God is glorified! Amen!

P.S. I have also used Zenni for glasses–inexpensive & lightweight.

  8. Molly245,

Thank you, Molly. I plan to post blurb as we actually provide services. Every once in a while, I might be persuaded to highlight a particular need and the cost of providing that need.
