Prayer of Anselm (1033-1109) link

Lord, because you have made me, I owe you the whole of my love;
because you have redeemed me, I owe you the whole of myself;
because you have promised so much,
I owe you my whole being. Moreover,
I owe you as much more love than myself as you are greater than I,
for whom you gave yourself and to whom you promised yourself.
I pray you, Lord, make me taste by love what I taste by knowledge;
let me know by love what I know by understanding.
I owe you more than my whole self, but I have no more,
and by myself I cannot render the whole of it to you.
Draw me to you, Lord, in the fullness of your love.
I am wholly yours by creation; make me all yours, too, in love.
Amen

A Prayer Attributed to Sir Francis Drake link
Disturb Us Lord

Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas
Where storms will show Your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask You to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push into the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.
Amen

The Lord's Prayer link

Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen

Scripture Reading: Luke 13:10-17 (NASB Bible Gateway)

And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.  And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God. But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him? And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?” As He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.

A Prayer of Brigid of Gael  c.451-523 link

I arise today
Through a mighty strength:
God's power to guide me,
God's might to uphold me,
God's eyes to watch over me;
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to give me speech,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to shelter me,
God's host to secure me.
Amen

Glory Be link
(Please feel free to sing :))

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen

  1. From an Orthodox vigil prayer for all in need of Christ’s merciful healing:

    “Only the Word of God takes us out of the night. Light comes only from God. Light always is from God, for there is no darkness in God.”

    Christ, in Thy great mercy, hear us.
    From the ages to the ages
    Amen.

  2. I think that in too many churches, these so called "Men of Gawd" would react the same way the Pharisees did in what Wade preached about. How dare you come and be healed on Sunday, and in my service. It's just not done. Come any other time, but not on my programmed down to the minute church service. We just don't do things like this. I'm sure most of you know what I am talking about.

    These churches are too consumed with the almighty dollar, than with the soul of man. They don't care about the healing of the body and the spirit. It's not on their radar. Instead it's all about pretense, and how big the church is and how many programs we have, and how many small group meetings we have. Shame on them. This sermon touched me in many ways.

    Thank you Wade for listening to the Holy Spirit and speaking God's word today. God Bless you my friend.

  3. Wade, I thought I might be able to stand up and cheer after hearing this very powerful message, but all that would come were tears of joy. Thank you so much for your ministry to the broken. May God continue to richly bless you for your service to Him through others.

    Deb and Dee, thank you for your ministry in providing e-church. It is so very appreciated!

  4. Marquis and Billy (son) have also posted an update about their needs on the Open Discussion thread.

    The GoFundMe account remains open for them too. They have car repairs and car insurance needs. Other needs as well. Please pray for work for the Mom.

  5. Powerful sermon from Luke’s gospel Wade.
    No wonder they conspired to have Jesus murdered in collusion with the Roman military.
    They couldn’t make him fit into their religion.

  6. I was born and raised in an extremely spiritually abusive Protestant church, which could be more accurately called a cult. I left about a year ago. Since then, trying to attend and find a new church has been quite painful. I have been struggling much lately, and this sermon was like a cup of cold water to my soul. Thank you.
