A Prayer of Ambrose (c 339-97) link

O Lord, who hast mercy upon all, take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me the fire of thy Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore thee,
a heart to delight in thee,
to follow and to enjoy thee,
for Christ’s sake.
In Jesus name,
Amen

The Lord's Prayer

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)

Scripture Reading: Luke 12:49-50 (NASB Bible Gateway)

“I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!"

Benediction

Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (NASB)

  1. “Jesus did not come to explain away suffering
    or to remove it.
He came to fill it with His Presence.”

  2. If you all could pray for my brother-in-law, Carter, and my sister, Lynn, I would be grateful. He was admitted into ER last night and is now in CCU. They almost lost him twice. He has lived for several years with congestive heart failure and has fought blood infections the last couple of years. Right now, it does not look good. Thank you.

Will definitely pray for your loved ones at this time.

  4. I received the blessing of joining in singing Cornerstone with a church full of believers in Kolkata a couple of Christmases ago. God’s people the world over rely on Jesus as our Cornerstone, Foundation and Solid Rock.

  5. Here is the latest on Carter (my brother-in-law): they have found a bacterial infection in his blood, which is the same thing he fought 3 years ago. It is attacking his heart, liver, and kidneys. The term is endocarditis. He is still in critical condition, but at least they know what they are dealing with and what direction to go with treatment. Hecwoll probably be in ghe hospital for a while. Thank you all for praying and the love you are sending. Lynn (my sister) says she can feel it and it is giving her strength and holding her up.

  6. My sister just finished talking with the doctor and it is not good news. The meds are not working on the infection and the other meds and ventilator are the only thing preventing cardiac arrest. He is in a medically induced come (per ventilator) and, per the doctor, it is just a matter of time, now. Please continue to pray for him and for my sister. Thank you.

At 8:47 Pm MDT, Carter passed. Thank you all so much for your prayers. Please continue to pray for my sister as she deals with this sudden loss.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss of Carter.

    Praying.

  8. @ Velour:
I join you in praying. There is a strength given to those who are surrounded with the prayers of Christian people and may Lynn find some comfort now in that complete communal trust in Our Lord.

  9. Please join the whole Church in praying for the people who are in harm’s way from Hurricane Matthew.
