Here is our Order of Worship

Luther's Morning Prayer link

My Heavenly Father,
I thank You, through Jesus Christ, Your beloved Son,
that You kept me safe from all evil and danger last night. Save me,
I pray, today as well, from every evil and sin,
so that all I do and the way that I live will please you.
I put myself in your care, body and soul and all that I have.
Let Your holy Angels be with me, so that the evil enemy will
not gain power over me.
Amen

A Prayer -1 Clement (@AD 96) link

We ask you, Master, be our helper and defender.
Rescue those of our number in distress; raise up the fallen;
assist the needy; heal the sick; turn back those of your people who stray;
feed the hungry; release our captives; revive the weak; encourage those who lose heart
 Let all the nations realize that you are the only God,
that Jesus Christ is your Child,
and that we are your people and the sheep of your pasture.
Amen

Scripture Reading:  Luke 11:5-8 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Then He said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and from inside he answers and says, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

Benediction: Psalm 121 (NIV-Bible Gateway)

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
 My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
 He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
 indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.
 The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
 the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.
 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

  1. All of my frustration and anger aside, all my hurt and pain, I still place my hope in Jesus alone, He has always and is always there. It has been a hard week for many here. I continue to hope for everyone's restoration and healing. I thank the Dear Lord for our hosts and their caring for so many in pain, in the local community in their families and friends and their online community as well. God be with you all.

  2. @ brian:

    Thanks for your compassionate comment. Yes, it's been a difficult week for many in the TWW community, and we continue to pray for hope and healing in their lives.

    The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.

    Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

    Psalm 34:18-19 (NASB)

  3. WADE's sermon is a blessing. I hope it will help many people who are suffering and in need of relief from despair. I am so glad you have chosen WADE to bring sermons here on Sundays, as he IS a minister who has stood up for the rights of victims of abuse since it has been my privilege to come to his blog some years ago. He can be trusted to protect the innocent and stand beside the victims even when it costs him and he has proven that.

    What a great contrast WADE is to the current powerful leader of an SBC seminary who has received a large sum of money (they are calling it a 'donation') and in turn has put out a welcome mat for Mahaney within the SBC.

    I hope someday people in the SBC realize what a blessing WADE has been to so many who had no voice and who have suffered. In any case, the Good Lord knows the truth of it, and that is in itself sufficient for good.

  4. Thank you Wade for putting my favorite version of “Amazing Grace” up today. It really has ministered to me today. I can imagine someday the whole heavenly choir singing this song.

  5. Belated thanks to the Deebs for the little Rich Mullins inspired revival I had over the weekend. I appreciated being reminded of the places of worship I’ve been because of his music. May the church get back some of the depth and passion she once had in Jesus. And may She get away from the legalism, patriarchy, and authoritarianism that now bogs her down.

    May the church remember to seek out Jesus and meditate on what He said and did and where He wanted to take us.
    May the Pharisees who have taken over be exposed and either repent and get back on track or hit the bricks.
