Here is Our Order of Worship

Martin Luther's Prayer link

Behold, Lord,
An empty vessel that needs to be filled.
My Lord, fill it.
I am weak in faith;
Strengthen thou me.
I am cold in love;
Warm me and make me fervent
That my love may go out to my neighbour.
I do not have a strong and firm faith;
At times I doubt and am unable to trust thee altogether.
O Lord, help me.
Strengthen my faith and trust in thee.
In thee I have sealed the treasures of all I have.
I am poor;
Thou art rich and didst come to be merciful to the poor.
I am a sinner;
Thou art upright.
With me there is an abundance of sin;
In thee is the fullness of righteousness.
Therefore, I will remain with thee of who I can receive
But to whom I may not give.
Amen

A Prayer for Lent link

Lord, grant us simplicity of faith
and a generosity of service
that gives without counting cost.
A life overflowing with Grace
poured out from the One
who gave everything,
that we might show
the power of love
to a broken world,
and share the truth
from a living Word.
Lord, grant us simplicity of faith,
and a yearning to share it.
Amen

Scripture Reading:  Luke 10:17-20 (NASB Bible Gateway)

The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.  Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.  Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”

The Aaronic Benediction link

May the Lord bless you and keep you;
may He cause his spirit to shine on you
and be gracious to you;
May He lift up His smile on you and give you peace.
Amen

  1. There are numerous references to the Book of Life and our names being enrolled in Heaven. I have always taken great comfort that my name is on THE LIST! I rejoice. I have realized as I’ve grown older how important it is to simply keep walking on the paths of righteousness. For me, this sermon is a wonderful reminder to simply trust Him come what may.

  2. Thank you, Janice and Molly, for listening and taking the time to respond. I pray your week will be filled with fresh glimpses and an even deeper understanding of His love and grace.

  3. Wade, I must add that your blog article, “Eight Dates That Prove the Bible is Christocentric” is excellent. Even though I sort of knew much of this information from years in Precepts, your put it in an easy-to–grasp manner and that is a talent! Excellent! @ Janice McKenzie:
