Here Is Our Order of Worship

The Lord's Prayer (Traditional)

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen

The Trinitarian Prayer of John Stott link

Good morning heavenly Father, good morning Lord Jesus, good morning Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father I worship you as the creator and sustainer of the universe.
Lord Jesus, I worship you, Saviour and Lord of the world.
Holy Spirit, I worship you, sanctifier of the people of God.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father, I pray that I may live this day in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life:
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Holy, blessed and glorious Trinity, three persons in one God, have mercy upon me.
Amen

Scripture Reading: Luke 9:7-17 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was happening; and he was greatly perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead, and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the prophets of old had risen again. Herod said, “I myself had John beheaded; but who is this man about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see Him.

When the apostles returned, they gave an account to Him of all that they had done. Taking them with Him, He withdrew by Himself to a city called Bethsaida. But the crowds were aware of this and followed Him; and welcoming them, He began speaking to them about the kingdom of God and curing those who had need of healing.

Five Thousand Fed

Now the day was ending, and the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; for here we are in a desolate place.” But He said to them, “You give them something to eat!” And they said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless perhaps we go and buy food for all these people.” (For there were about five thousand men.) And He said to His disciples, “Have them sit down to eat in groups of about fifty each.” They did so, and had them all sit down. Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them, and broke them, and kept giving them to the disciples to set before the people.  And they all ate and were satisfied; and the broken pieces which they had left over were picked up, twelve baskets full.

Prayer of St. Benedict link
O gracious and holy Father,
give us wisdom to perceive you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to behold you,
a heart to meditate upon you,
and a life to proclaim you;
through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

Prayer to the Holy Spirit Regarding Anxiety ~ William Browning link

"O Holy Spirit, give me stillness of soul in you.
Calm the turmoil within, with the gentleness of your peace.
Quiet the anxiety within, with a deep trust in you.
Heal the wounds of sin within, with the joy of your forgiveness.
Strengthen the faith within, with the awareness of your presence.
Confirm the hope within, with the knowledge of your strength.
Give fullness to the love within, with an outpouring of your love.
O Holy Spirit, be to me a source of light, strength and courage
so that I may hear your call ever more clearly
and follow you more generously."
Amen

Benediction Numbers 6:24-26 (NASB)

The Lord bless you, and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance on you,
And give you peace.’

  1. As always thanks for posting the service.

Back in the mid 90s when I attended a “brick and mortar” church, Mercy Me was our worship band at youth camp:) I remember the keyboard player under their bus making repairs, and buying their tapes and CDs too I think. Mike the original guitar player would give lessons during lunch break, and their singer Bart, well some nights our speaker wouldn’t even preach because the worship was so powerful. Then “I Can Only Imagine” became such a huge hit and we never saw them again LOL!

Friday I am flying to Texas to see my brother in law be baptized:) My B-I-L attended a community “Walk To Emmas” retreat and accepted Christ as His Savior. My sister is being baptized too! God is so good!

May I ask for prayer over the next couple of days for my friend Daniel. Daniel is in his mid 80s and has nothing. He lives with family members in a chaotic mobile home. Daniel has numerous mental and physical problems but was always in attendance at Church. For many years I picked Daniel up and drove him to Church Wed PM Sun AM Sun PM and special activities as well. For a few years I had a 1975 VW Beetle I would pick him up in can you believe that? I admit sometimes I didn’t want to pick up Daniel, there was never any real conversation, and sometimes he didn’t smell very good either. But then he would give me a birthday card or Christmas card or Easter card and it would just break my heart that I felt sorry for myself having to pick him up. I left this Church a couple years ago, but pick Daniel up once a month and we would go out to lunch. Golden Corral (a buffet) was always a favorite LOL!

One of Daniels cousins called me and told me Daniel was in the hospital, then before I have a chance to go see him, they tell me he can’t think talk or walk and was put in a nursing home. I tried to call Daniel yesterday but they do not have phones in their rooms, and the person I talked to didn’t seem real helpful.

Please pray for Daniels comfort and care. Like I said before he has nothing and I’m not sure what kind of situation he is in. Daniel is well loved by many at my former church, and I am 100% sure that others are looking in on him.

    Your Friend in Florida
    Lawrence

  2. @ Lawrence:

Enjoyed your commentary on Mercy Me. They were in Raleigh a few days ago, and I heard them in person. I have always loved their music, so all of the EChurch songs this week are by Mercy Me.

Have a safe flight to Texas on Friday. What a wonderful occasion for your family.

I will be praying for your friend Daniel. Thanks for asking us to pray for his comfort.

  3. The many modern bible versions make the Lord’s Prayer a shortened end
Maybe the devil who messes with the bible wants the last few words for himself
Because man is dumbing down the Holy Spirits word it now longer has power after these so called intelligent scholars twist the truth.

  4. Thanks for the prayers for Daniel, I saw him today. He is in a nice clean safe top notch nursing home. He seemed fine to me, but he is in a wheel chair and not walking yet. The relatives he lives with find it hard to take care of him. It’s a tough situation for Daniel, his family, everyone. Several folks from my old church have visited Daniel, I knew they would. Thanks again.
