Here Is Our Order of Worship

Prayer from Book of Common Worship link

Everlasting God, in whom we live and move and have our being:
You have made us for yourself, so that our hearts are restless until they rest in you.

Give us purity of heart and strength of purpose,
that no selfish passion may hinder us from knowing your will,
no weakness keep us from doing it; that in your light we may see light clearly,
and in your service find perfect freedom; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.

Eternal God, you have called us to be members of one body.
Join us with those who in all times and places have praised your name,
that, with one heart and mind, we may show the unity of your church,
and bring honor to our Lord and Savior, one God, now and forever.
Amen.

4th Presbyterian Church Prayers of the People link.

Holy God, you have touched us with your grace and awakened us by your Spirit.
We are deeply grateful but confess that sometimes we don’t act very grace-filled or spiritually awake.

So where our familiarity with the Gospel has desensitized us to its demanding truth;
where our relationship with Jesus Christ has become more nostalgic than dynamic;
where our passion to be your body has grown lukewarm; send your grace and mercy.

Forgive us, restore us, and strengthen us,
that we may rise up again in peace to love and serve your world.
Amen.

We are honored to have Roy Schneider deliver this week's sermon.

Scripture Reading:  Joshua 5:13-15 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand, and Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?”  He said, “No; rather I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, “What has my lord to say to his servant?” The captain of the Lord’s host said to Joshua, “Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

Eternal God,
you are the power behind all things: behind the energy of the storm, behind the heat of a million suns.

Eternal God,
you are the power behind all minds: behind the ability to think and reason, behind all understanding of the truth.

Eternal God,
you are the power behind the cross of Christ: behind the weakness, the torture and the death, behind unconquerable love.

Eternal God,
we worship and adore you.
Amen.

Prayer from Book of Common Worship link

Come, O Holy Spirit.
come as Holy Fire and burn in us,
come as Holy Wind and cleanse us within,
come as Holy Light and lead us in the darkness,
come as Holy Truth and dispel our ignorance,
come as Holy Power and enable our weakness,
come as Holy Life and dwell in us.

Convict us, convert us, consecrate us,
until we are set free from the service of ourselves,
to be your servants to the world.
Amen.

Prayer from Book of Common Worship link

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord be kind and gracious to you.
The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace. Alleluia!
Amen.

  1. Thank you for your e-church on sundays. I listen and read, my heart hunger for real church is eased. I am grateful for the simplicity, songs, scripture. Mostly for not feeling threatened. Peace be with you all at TWW.
