“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.”
Lord of the Rings

We have been startled by the number of emails we have been receiving from people who have been deeply hurt by their churches. Yet, all of these folks have stressed that they are still Christians . When we began this blog, we intended on discussing diverse issues within the pale of Christendom. However, the more we write, the more we are becoming convinced that the majority of these issues involve an element of spiritual abuse.
So, we are exploring a way to start a new group called The Fellowship of the Wounded. We first used these words in our Wonderland series. We are fans of The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J R Tolkien. In these books, small beings, the Hobbits, and their friends, took on great evil. The most endearing part of this story was the little group of Hobbits who stuck together even when their lives were in danger. They never deserted one another and were willing to suffer much for one another. And, by the way, they won! Our victory is assured but the road can be hard. This is Christian fellowship in its best form.
We are open to suggestions. We could start a page with contact emails. Perhaps we could pray for one another. We could tell our stories of failure and success. We are also interested in posting stories of spiritual abuse that have caused you and your loved ones pain. Christ’s glory is magnified in those who have been broken.
We are open to any thoughts and suggestions.
In the meantime, here is a funny video to brighten your day. (video to follow-sorry)
