The Puritans did not demonstrate repentance and love to those unjustly accused during the Witch Trials. The believed in a state mandated faith and threw out Roger Williams who disagreed. They did not pay Native Americans for their land. They treated children as little adults and women, who had no say in government or church, were judged by how their children behaved.

After four centuries, the Puritans are now “hip”. It’s incredible how the New Calvinists have embraced Puritanism in recent years. Who were the Puritans? What did they believe? How did the Puritans worship God? We will attempt to answer these questions in today’s post. It’s important to note that this article is not intended to be a treatise on Puritanism.
