I contacted him and asked if TWW might be able to post it as well. He graciously gave us permission to do so. This letter is written by a 30 year member of Sovereign Grace Ministries who, after many years of sacrificial love and service, felt he could not longer participate in the ministry. It is a well written, thoughtful letter that should cause any Godly person to question why such events transpired. Pay particular attention to the excellent quotes he provides at the end of his letter. Well done, sir!

James Robinson Sunset over the Sahara-NASA On Monday, we will look at the 20/20 story on the IFB churches which dealt with sexual and child abuse. What has happened to the role of pastor? I think of the genial Methodist minister who lived up the street who occasionally visited our home, along with the homes of all of our neighbors, for coffee and cookies. He was often found at the local hospitals and nursing homes, visiting church members and even some locals who were not church attendees. He attended Little League games, cheering on the kids from his youth group. He attended school board meeting and gave the occasional prayer. Our Russian Orthodox priest always viited our home. He could be seen dancing the polka at the Polish festivals and kept a similar schedule to his Methodist counterpart. Both men were known, respected and genuinely liked by the community in Salem, Massachusetts. Soon after I became a Christian, I met another pastor who was cut from the same cloth. We build fences to keep ourselves from committing certain sins. Soon these fences – instead of the sins they were designed to guard against- become the issue. We elevate our rules to the level of God’s commandments. “ Jerry Bridges Vyckie Garrison, an escapee from the Quiverfull Movement (QF), has created a website which she describes as “a gathering place for women escaping and recovering from spiritual abuse”. She appropriately calls it No Longer Quivering. If you have not yet read Vyckie’s testimony posted on exChristians.net and here at TWW, we hope you will take the time to read how Vyckie renounced her faith. It will give you a glimpse into the dark side of the Quiverfull Movement. Shortly after we began blogging, Dee and I wrote a number of posts about the Quiverfull Movement. Several times we have focused on the Duggars, who are the QF poster family.
