A  Prayer

Lord of compassion and care, you sent your Son into our world, to bring healing to bodies and souls.
We pray for all those in the human family who are suffering, hurting, sick, ill, and grieving.
We pray especially for those whom we know and love,
and for those we’ve named on our prayer cards and prayer list. Sustain them in their afflictions, give them relief and reassurance, and fill their hearts with hope in Christ.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Amen

A Prayer

Lord of mercy and kindness,
we rejoice at the grace you have shown us in Christ Jesus, our Savior.
Despite our wayward, sinful words, thoughts, and actions,
you continue to love us, and you gave your Son as a sacrifice in our place.
Help us all, young and old, to realize our failings, to acknowledge our faults,
and to bring our sins to the cross of Christ with repentant hearts.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Amen

A Prayer

Lord of power and strength,
to protect us You have established rulers and earthly authorities.
Bless all who serve in our national, state, and local governments.
Help us to cherish our liberty, and use our freedoms wisely
in the pursuit of justice and for the welfare of all people.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Amen

Colossians 2:16-19 NIV

Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink,
or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.

Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you.
Such a person also goes into great detail about what they have seen;
they are puffed up with idle notions by their unspiritual mind.

They have lost connection with the head, from whom the whole body,
supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

May the love of the Father,
the tenderness of the Son,
and the presence of the Spirit,
gladden your heart
and bring peace to your soul,
this day and all days,
Amen.
