A Prayer of Relinquishment by Richard Foster link

Today, O Lord, I yield myself to You.
May Your will be my delight today.
May You have perfect sway in me.
May your love be the pattern of my living.
I surrender to You my hopes, my dreams, my ambitions.
Do with them what You will, when You will, as You will.
I place into Your loving care my family, my friends, my future.
Care for them with a care that I can never give.
I release into Your hands my need to control, my craving for status, my fear of obscurity.
Eradicate the evil, purify the good, and establish Your Kingdom on earth.
For Jesus’ sake,
Amen.

A Prayer of Church Father Irenaeus (died 202 C.E.) asking for growth in grace link

“Give growing maturity to beginners, O Father;
give intelligence to the little ones;
give aid to those who are running their course.
Give sorrow to the negligent;
give fervor of spirit to the lukewarm.
Give to the mature a good end;
for the sake of Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory
forever and ever.
Amen

Scripture:Revelation 21:4 NIV

‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Prayer of Benedict link

O gracious and holy Father,
give us wisdom to perceive you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to behold you,
a heart to meditate upon you,
and a life to proclaim you;
through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

  1. This song: Wild River by Phil Wickham really inspires me.
    I almost want to write a poem for this God beyond measure! Yes, He loves us with an extreme love (to the Cross and back), and He hates whatever separates us from Him with extreme hate. And He pours out His mercy and grace with such powerful force and velocity as the raging sea and wild wild river!

    If only we knew Him more! If only the world knew Who He really is and what He is really like! Wouldn’t we turn to Him with all of our heart and all of our might?

    This world is in constant battles of spiritual warfare. Let’s be filled with the Holy Spirit, so we can have love enough to care about the larger world. Let’s pray, and pray for all the souls everywhere, including US, Middle East, East Asia, Hong Kong, South America, Russia, and more.

    Thanks for sharing this worship song.
