Todd Wilhelm Is Live Tweeting and Writing Posts about the Tom Chantry Trial

“When everything is moving and shifting, the only way to counteract chaos is stillness. When things feel extraordinary, strive for ordinary. When the surface is wavy, dive deeper for quieter waters.” Kristin Armstrong

This is Todd who is an experienced diver/photographer. You can see his work on You Tube.

This post is 1 of 2 post planned for today. I am hoping to get the second post on the knock down, drag out fight at Highpoint Church this week. The police were called in! Did that get you interested?

I have had a painful flair of my psoriatic arthritis, which started 4 days ago and was put on some meds today. If things get tight, I will post in the morning. Thank you for your understanding.

Todd Wilhelm, official hero of TWW, moved home to Arizona a few months ago, after spending almost a decade in Dubai in air traffic control. We wrote of his run in with 9 Marx at UCCD while in Dubai. Folks, these autocratic crazies are everywhere!

Todd has been particularly instrumental in keeping up with the arrest and the oft postponed trial of Tom Chantry. He is attending each day of the trial and is keeping us up on various aspects of what is being discussed and claimed. He plans to tweet from the trial which he is attending each day.

Chantry, while a youth pastor many years ago, has been credibly accused of abusing children in his ministry. You can read about the charges here, here, and here. Most of those charges allege physical abuse but it is alleged that Chantry derived *satisfaction* from this abuse. Pay particular attention to the Red Binder.

I also believe that my writings regarding the arrest and the accusations of Tom Chantry were the reasons behind last year’s letter sent to members of my church and to Duke University where my husband is a cardiologist. It was my concern about the Chantry trial which also led to Frank Turk accusing me of foul things on Twitter. I believe he was forced to take down his Twitter feed due to these malicious accusations. We had a little lesson on what constitutes actual slander. In spite of the letter and Frank Turk disgusting accusations, we carried on.

I am curious. What’s the deal with Chantry and why are some men doing bizarre things to shut down any discussion of his actions? Why are people involved with John MacArthur’s ministry getting so bent out of shape about this? Thoughts?

Here is a link to Todd’s Twitter. You do not need an account to follow his tweets.

Here is a link to his blog, Thou Art the Man. He plans to post nightly during the trial.

Be sure to read this post on the evidentiary hearing that he attended last week.

Thank you, Todd!

  1. Yes, Dee, praying for you.

Appreciation to Todd Wilhelm for following the case and sharing with the rest of us. We’ll learn a few things. Unfortunately, a predator, the alleged, preyed on innocents in church, of all places.

Saw a recent tweet summary: Millstone, neck, depths of the sea.

  2. This tragic case demonstrates how the naiveté of christians makes them easy pickings for abusers. What parent, in their right mind, just ‘forgives’ a man for punching their child in the face for squirting him with a squirt gun? This is not to lay blame on already guilt-ridden parents, whose innocent naiveté was taken advantage of by a clever abuser, but to warn us all of the dangers of teaching or believing that any behavior can be quietly overlooked as long as the magic ‘I’m sorry’ words are spoken. Wake up christians. You can ‘forgive’ anything you want, but don’t give the perp a chance to ‘sin’ against other vulnerable victims. I’ll ‘forgive’ when I can safely visit them in prison.

Either they’re in on it themselves or Chantry knows where their bodies are buried.
