Heart of Candles

Here is our Order of Worship

We are honored to have Paul Burleson (Wade’s father) deliver this week’s sermon. Paul has been in the ministry for over 58 years, 40 of which were in pastoring and the rest in conference/revival work.  Paul blogs at vtmbottomline.blogspot.com

Scripture Reading:  Luke 20:41-47 (NASB Bible Gateway)

God Is Love

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

  1. Please check your email, Deb. There’s a young woman being domestically abused in my neighborhood.

  2. Thanks so much for using the song – The Love of God in the worship part of the service.
My dad sang it countless times during his life. It always brought tears to my eyes when he sang it. It has been 3 weeks now since my dad died. My family is beginning to heal. Each of us in our own way. My daughter shared with me this yesterday. The night my dad was put in the hospital, as she was praying, God spoke to her. He told her that her grandpa was dying. That it was time to say goodbye. He told her to pray to him and say her words to her grandpa. He would give my dad the dream and he would know it. Thru that night she prayed off and on all night and told her grandpa how much she loved him, etc. When we visited dad in the hospital, I would mention her, and he would just smile and say he knew she loved him. How precious this is to me and to her that she was able to say goodbye to her grandpa. God was gracious to her in giving this time to her with her grandpa in a dream. I truly believe that dad had that dream. One day I’m going to ask dad about the dream. Once again, he will smile and say it happened as she said it did.
