Here is our Order of Worship

A Prayer of Ambrose (c 339-97) link

O Lord, who hast mercy upon all, take away from me my sins,
and mercifully kindle in me the fire of thy Holy Spirit.
Take away from me the heart of stone,
and give me a heart of flesh,
a heart to love and adore thee,
a heart to delight in thee,
to follow and to enjoy thee,
for Christ’s sake.
In Jesus name,
Amen

The Lord’s Prayer

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

Amen.

(Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)

Scripture Reading:  Luke 20:41-47 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Then He said to them, “How is it that they say the Christ is David’s son?  For David himself says in the book of Psalms,

The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at My right hand,
Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’

Therefore David calls Him ‘Lord,’ and how is He his son?”

And while all the people were listening, He said to the disciples, “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love respectful greetings in the market places, and chief seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets, who devour widows’ houses, and for appearance’s sake offer long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

Benediction

Jude 1:24-25 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

  1. My dad passed away in his sleep last night around 10 pm. He was surrounded by family and friends. I was talking to my cousin earlier in the week about my dad. His dad (dad’s brother) died last year. He said that a few weeks before he died, he told him that he wanted to go have breakfast with Jesus. Now my dad has joined his brothers and parents around the family table for breakfast in heaven with Jesus. I made my peace with my dad’s death on Friday. Now he is in a new place and a new dimension. The family will gather from various parts of the country sometime this week for his funeral. My husband and I will make another trip to Missouri for it. It will truly be a celebration of life.

  2. @ Harley:
I’m sorry for your loss. Praying for you and yours.

Also, requesting prayers. I was in the ER yesterday morning with a kidney stone. It is between 7mm and 9mm in size. That is huge – too big to pass on its own. They are scheduling out patient surgery to break it up. In the meantime, I am on percoset….
Also, in the CT scan from last month for the pneumonia and again yesterday, they see a small nodule on my lower right lung. They said it is probably nothing to be concerned about, but they still want me to see a specialist to make sure. Thank you.
