God give me strength link

God give me strength
Lord give me Your strength
I feel weak and helpless right now
I'm not sure how much more I can take

God give me strength
Lord give me Your strength
For I'm running on empty right now
All my dials are at zero

Come shelter my mind in the storms
Where I'm confused flood me with light

Come shelter my heart in the storms
Where I'm weak come flood me with strength

Come lift up my spirit in the storms
Cause sadness to end and hope to rise

Cover me with Your love O Lord
Wash me in Your goodness O God

Cover me with Your love O Lord
Clean me out and help me start again

Amen

Prayer of St. Benedict link

O gracious and holy Father,
give us wisdom to perceive you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to behold you,
a heart to meditate upon you,
and a life to proclaim you;
through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

This week Abraham Wright, who joined the Emmanuel Enid staff two years ago, is filling in for Wade Burleson. The message of Grace changed Abraham’s life his senior year in high school and he then became obsessed with trying to reach his teammates with the same Good News of Christ that changed his life. Abraham has worked for a few churches and recently worked for Fellowship of Christian Athletes before coming to Emmanuel. He was born in Tulsa, OK and raised in Oklahoma City by a single mother.  Abraham grew up playing football and was able to play college football for the University of Colorado, where he got his B.A. in Sociology. He played one year for the Miami Dolphins in 2007 and was released after his rookie season. Abraham currently serves as Community Evangelist at Emmanuel Enid.

The Lord's Prayer (Traditional)

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
Amen

Benediction (Numbers 6:24-26)

  1. This week’s EChurch is dedicated to a dear friend from church (Sandra) who is now in the arms of Jesus. She passed away last Monday and would have turned 75 on September 20th.

Several of the songs in this EChurch post are from her funeral/memorial service, namely, You Are My All In All, Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone, and Glorify Thy Name.

Every single seat in our church was filled, and it served as a testament to the incredible life that Sandra lived.

Please keep her husband of 53 years, as well as her children and grandchildren, in your prayers.

    Thanks, Deb

Thank God for the Sandras of The Church, who serve as a reminder that the risen Jesus is far more than just a brand, and that his name draws others besides wolves.
