Pray for Shauna and Billy — 18 Comments

  1. Me too. I was just wondering about them yesterday and today and praying for them before this posting.

  2. Dee, thank you for everything. I did not expect for all of you to be so supportive in this way. God has been good in that we have our needs met and at times it has been really close. I am trying to work the jobs I do have left and take care of about 30 horses to put food on the table and take care of the basics. This work also makes it so that I can be available for Billy, he needs me to be there. Billy is doing alright although he did share with me recently that he is wanting to go back into counseling. Lately he has struggled with nightmares. I am so proud of him because he recognizes that he can’t handle the ptsd on his own and knows he needs someone trained who can walk him through it. Your support has meant not only so much to me but more so to Billy. He is seeing a different side of the church body in how you support and believe him. He needed to be believed and that support I believe has helped him heal. Thank you thank you thank you for all that you have done for us. Your prayers are needed and as soon as Dee is able to I found some explosive information. My hope is that Dee will see what I see and expose my findings. I hope it was ok to post this here.

    @marquis,

If it’s not too personal, would you mind letting your know your specific needs?

Sorry it took so long my Internet on my phone has gone in and out with all the storms and flooding here. Our needs are very basic and to most would seem like nothing but to us it is difficult to keep up.
    Utilities
    Trash service
    Car insurance
    Food
    Rent
    Gas
    Water bill
    Rent / I pay a difference
Clothing /shoes / school lunch whatever billy’s needs happend to be that month.
    Car maintenance
Medical bills / from billy’s assault (I can’t pay much on that not enough income )
    Tutor for billy
Counseling for billy not sure if I will pay or how much yet.

Billy is having difficulty lately sleeping. He is afraid lately of his recent flare up of nightmares.

Anyways this is all I can think of right now. Billy and I live very simple. I cut out the luxuries and I’m glad I don’t have them as it is not practical.

  6. @ marquis:

Thank you, Marquis for the update. Any ball park figure right now on what that adds up to? I will post and let others know.

  7. I need all of you to know what a blessing Dee is and all of you are to bilky and myself. I don’t have words to express how I feel. I can tell you that my heart wants so badly to go back and get that night back for billy. I know that it will never be possible I want back the last few years of grieving without the prayers and support of the people who I thought loved us but at the very least cared about hurting people. It may be that they care, I can’t say but what I have come to realize is that it comes at a cost. There is no easy way to get away from the truth and either we stand for it and accept the consequences or we ignore it and continue to be enslaved to a system a Christianity that destroys the our light our saltiness. I have come to understand the love of Christ flows through His church not a building, not a location but believers here at thewartburgwatch.com A lot who are outcasts or at the very least feel like one and displaced. I still feel like the scattered isrealite although I’m a gentile. I hope this makes sense to all of you. I realize the gift I have been given when I was blessed with a child and it’s a greater gift to see and experience others love him.

Oh, that is beautiful Marquis. I feel the same. Someone posted here the other day that when the blind man had been cast out of the temple by the Pharisees, Jesus find him. I

  9. @Marquis,

Please email Dee and Deb your and Billy’s clothing sizes. A Wartburg Watch poster, Catholic Gate Crasher posted this today:

“Y’all, my husband doesn’t let me give money over the Internet. I can’t give cash, but I can give (new) intimates and apparel. I work for a huge apparel company, and we have sample sales all the time. I just need sizes. Thanks!!”

I don’t know the extent of the rest of her offer and I have asked her to email Dee and Deb.

There are two GoFundMe campaigns here on TWW, one for you and Billy and one for Jeanette.

    Hugs and love,

    Velour

  10. Velour I went ahead and emailed Dee. I also let her know that Billy is going through a growth spurt. He has dropped two sizes because he is growing. It would be incredible if anything sent for billy happens close to august when he starts school. I’m trying to think of the best way to be a good steward of what is given to him and make what we have last over the summer. If that is asking to much no worries I am beyond grateful for what is being done for him. He is amazed and can’t believe the amount of support we have had through this time. The flooding here has affected my feeding the horses for a few weeks. They had to be evacuated and until the rain ceases they will stay where they are. The ground is so saturated here. Anyways pray for me that I can make up for that loss in cleaning homes. It’s definitely tough work but I am so grateful to have it. I am able to bring billy with me sometimes when he has difficulty being alone. Some of the homes I do my customers have the lake or a swimming pool and they allow billy to swim while I work. What a blessing that has been. Billy had some difficulty this year with school as some of the kids have not been so nice. I can’t tell you how much of a challenge this brings to billy’s life as they can be pretty brutal. A few of them are members of Ken Ramey’s church and have told other kids that my son likes guys. This makes the healing process difficult for billy but I can say that he has handled himself well. I believe this is one reason why it is important to call on Ken Ramey to vindicate Billy where the state of Texas has and his perpetrator. It’s challenging enough for him as it is with his struggle to keep up in school academically, his PTSD, and now he has to defend his reputation. I wanted to give all of you an update that billy is doing good. He will start summer school soon and this is a yearly thing for him as he isn’t able to keep up at the pace of other children in school. He is just as capable and smart it just takes him a little longer then the other children to grasp what he is learning. When you add on the trauma and coping with kids picking on him I am proud to say that billy is so much further ahead than I ever expected. Billy has courage and he has shown that he can get through this but needs a lot of support from me, his teachers, and those of you here praying for him. I have to say that the school district here in our town the teachers have been a huge support for billy. I decided from day one to have a sit down with all his teachers, coaches, and principle’s after the assault to let them know what had happened to billy. I did this so that he could receive as much support from them as possible and so that they would understand that when billy was fearful, angry, sad, all the emotions that a kid experiences after such a terrible crime committed against him they wouldn’t make any snap judgements or punish him for behavior that wasn’t due to defiance or disrespect. This has turned out to be one of the biggest blessings for Billy. He has had outbursts of anger, and sadness. This has allowed his counselor’s and teachers to be able to make themselves available through out the year and talk to him. It also allowed them to give billy more time to complete projects and work where it was difficult for him to focus. I will have a sit down with his teachers again this year because as he gets into sports there will be situations that will be highly sensitive for Billy as we have encountered them already. I am sorry this update is so late coming to all of you but I want you to know that billy has had a great year considering his circumstances and my loss of work. Your prayers, help, and support mean so much to us. I don’t have words and my prayer is to get into a position one day to do this for someone else here. I truly want to serve those here in any way I can whether we received help or not. The fact that you believed billy and are speaking out for him has completely melted my heart. Where I thought it would be in pieces forever your prayers and care have mended a lot of the brokenness I wish I would have known sooner to run here. Ken made a point in the beginning of all this after billy’s rape. He told me that he was surprised that i didn’t run for the hills. I guess he never got that I was expecting my own church to provide the kind of care you all have given to billy. Maybe that should have been an indication to run because looking back I can now see that there were times I should have run. I also believed I did what I thought was right and assumed that we would have received the care there that we got here. Anyways Velour thank you so much for your support thank you to the man who gave us this incredible computer. I love, love, love it! Billy has used it for school and I am sending out resumes and searching jobs. Thank you thank you thank you all for everything.

  11. Oh and I can not forget Dee and Deb. Thank you both for everything. I can’t wait for the day that I can meet Dee. She has been an angel to Billy and in spite of her own family to care for she has cared for me and billy. I love you Dee.

  12. Update: Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Today I was able to pay for Billy’s summer school. Here in Texas although it’s a public school it costs quite a bit. I was able to cover those costs which billy needed to go. He struggles in Reading /Language Arts and math. He will get an extra five to six weeks of a small classroom with more time for one on one with the teachers. This is a big and means a lot.
