Political Commentary Will Get You Thrown Into Moderation

Today, I added some parameters into our filter that deal with the current political election. I don't want to go there. Please do not mention current candidates in your comments. It is not a hill that this blog want to die on. Child sex abuse, yes! Politicians, no!!! Thank you.

  1. Thank you. There is more than enough of that around. 🙂

    Here is my latest status:

Well, here is my current status. My car is dead…a friend is coming over in a little while to help me take the battery out. I’m hoping that is all it is as the battery is still under warranty (5 months old). If not….. I have $400 of bills coming due in the morning and I am also down to rice in the cupboard and am almost out of some of the treatment protocols not covered by insurance. I am working on trying to not panic. Mostly successful in that….somewhat. 🙂 So….if anyone has the ability and desire to help, that would be awesome. But I understand that things are really tight for most people. The who can and/or have helped: thank you so very much!

  2. @ Jeannette Altes:

By the way, here’s the information on where to get food (usually from the Second Harvest Food Bank in your area): http://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank/

If you’re down to rice, please call them.

I’m sorry I can’t help right now. I have some major medical expenses. I am praying for you.

Also, I know that you were looking for a job. If you need work clothes, please contact Dress for Success, a charitable group that outfits people for free:

Hard to get away from mentioning Hill, isn’t it 🙂

  4. Thank you for this; the world goes not well–but the Kingdom comes. (With thanks for Tales of the Kingdom by David and Karen Mains). I have always appreciated the focus here, on Kingdom issues.

  5. Dee, I know this is off topic but I know you will see this. Thank youuuuuuu it was such a blessing. I am up and going again, finally and I am doing the work hustle lol. You will know what that means i’m sure.

    A fellow Bloomie!

“Don’t blame me, I voted for Bill’n’Opus.” (I went to university with Berkeley-Berke-Breathed. He was one of the gems of being at UT.)

I wish you lived near me. You could shop in my cupboards. And we have a wonderful local charity that gives out all kinds of things that I could direct you to. Start3d by one woman who was frustrated at folks who “fall thru the cracks”. Prayers, dear lady.

Oh wow! I had all his books back in the 80s and am enjoying his new stuff on Facebook.

  9. I read your wonderful blog daily but don’t believe I’ve ever commented. As I’m an unaffiliated, non-Messianic Jewish guy, I don’t tend to have a horse in the particular races apart from this one

Considering the extreme polarization and unfocused partisan rage, regardless of the side of the aisle, just wanted to say thank you, and that’s one of the wisest choices I’ve seen in a long time.

Nothing more, and I’ll go back to lurking, but thank you.

  10. (although I do have and have had family members and friends over the decades who’ve been caught up in the topics you discuss here, so there is that)

    Best candidate for President ever!

Even REVEREND Nehemiah Scudder in 2012?
(Now to see how many of you know their Heinlein…)

I used to have a Bill the Cat T-shirt. Wore it to SF cons on the last day of the con, because usually by the last day I was a walking Bill the Cat impression. “ACK!”

Also, 30 years ago there was this one female in local SF/anime fandom who could do a GREAT Bill the Cat impersonation. (Or “Bill the Cat being strangled” – hard to tell the difference.) “ACK! PHTTTTT!”
