Easter Prayer of St. Hippolytus (AD 190-236)
Christ is Risen: The world below lies desolate
Christ is Risen: The spirits of evil are fallen
Christ is Risen: The angels of God are rejoicing
Christ is Risen: The tombs of the dead are empty
Christ is Risen indeed from the dead,
the first of the sleepers,
Glory and power are his forever and ever

He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,

he was crushed for our iniquities;

I have not had time to watch Wade’s video, but I have read the comments. Altho I am glad that the movie was enjoyable, the book it was based on is actually much more interesting and glorifying to God. “The Small Woman” was written by Alan Burgess in the late ’50s. I hope some of you will check it out. I saw the movie years ago and it was quite entertaining, but the real story is better!!
I see in checking on Amazon books, that Gladys Aylward wrote her own book, an autobiography, titled “The Little Woman” in 1970. Now I am pretty sure that that one is the REAL story and I have ordered it and I am looking forward to reading it!!
