Easter Prayer of St. Hippolytus (AD 190-236)

Christ is Risen: The world below lies desolate
Christ is Risen: The spirits of evil are fallen
Christ is Risen: The angels of God are rejoicing
Christ is Risen: The tombs of the dead are empty
Christ is Risen indeed from the dead,
the first of the sleepers,
Glory and power are his forever and ever
Amen

Isaiah 53:3-5 (link)

He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

Scripture Reading:  Luke 10:41-42 (NASB Bible Gateway)

But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Father, thank you that you have revealed Your love to us today.
We invite You to send us out from here in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Fan into flame the gifts that you have given us,
Come reveal Your grace and truth to us each day.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory,
Forever and ever.

Amen

  1. Loved your encouraging message, Wade! Unfortunately, the video ended just as you were saying the name of the movie. What was the title?

Sorry about Oklahoma's loss tonight. 🙁 I was really hoping for a UNC/Oklahoma match-up Monday night. Hopefully, our Tarheels will beat Syracuse.

  2. the movie is called,

The Inn of the Sixth Happiness just aired on TNT and you can view it on youtube as well.

Thanks as always to Wade and Dee and Deb for echurch.

  3. This is,encouraging thank you! Also I posted an update under Shauna and billy go fund me in the comments

  4. Sorry, folks – thank you for your comments – and patience. It seems our media team accidentally cut off the message. Nobody noticed till you all mentioned it. They are attempting to repair it, and will have the full video up by Monday afternoon.

    Thanks!

  5. I have not had time to watch Wade’s video, but I have read the comments. Altho I am glad that the movie was enjoyable, the book it was based on is actually much more interesting and glorifying to God. “The Small Woman” was written by Alan Burgess in the late ’50s. I hope some of you will check it out. I saw the movie years ago and it was quite entertaining, but the real story is better!!

  6. I see in checking on Amazon books, that Gladys Aylward wrote her own book, an autobiography, titled “The Little Woman” in 1970. Now I am pretty sure that that one is the REAL story and I have ordered it and I am looking forward to reading it!!

  7. Absolutely, more is coming because they just cannot stop. I heard ken did a sermon on taming the tongue-something like that. Apparently, he's cautioning his members not to read blogs and not to even comment and post. Something to that effect. @ Deb: patriciamc wrote:
