An Interesting *Like* by Naghmeh Abedini

I find this *like* of a tweet I sent out fascinating. It appeared last evening @8PM.

It is evident that Naghmeh is aware of the blog post we wrote on her behalf. She did not have to tag this tweet. I feel this speaks to the reality of her claims. Please pray for her and her family.

  1. She absolutely knows about this blog or someone mentioned it to her. The power of word of mouth is strong.

  2. I think this blog has a wider readership than anyone realizes. And no wonder, people need the encouragement it provides for helping those in abusive situations in the Church.

  3. Naghmeh,
If you need more support than you are getting, contact the ladies at this blog. They will help.

  4. When the Roman Catholic clergy sex abuse scandal broke in Boston, the accusers faced a great deal of angry denial in addition to some fence-sitting and some support. In several cases, many accusers came forward against one priest—and still they were accused of lying.

Most married people have only one spouse at a time. In the event of abuse, this limits the number of accusers.

When someone comes forward to say, “My spouse abused me,” all of us need to stop and ask ourselves whether the accusation benefits the accuser.

I believe Naghmeh, if only because I cannot see this accusation making her life easier in any way whatsoever. The accusation makes her life harder.

I also believe her because I know quite a bit about the hidden nature of domestic abuse.

  5. If you guys really want to look at something neat and know you played a part of it. Do this….look at the alexa rankings for TWW and then look at the alexa rankings for 9 Marks. You’ll find that TWW is not far behind. We need to get TWW over the hump. Maybe TWW birthday gift to Jonathan Leeman can be indigestion! 😛
