Here Is Our Order of Worship

An undated prayer by George Washington link

O eternal and everlasting God,
I presume to present myself this morning before thy Divine majesty,
beseeching thee to accept of my humble and hearty thanks,
that it hath pleased thy great goodness to keep and preserve me the night past
from all the dangers poor mortals are subject to, and has given me sweet and pleasant sleep,
whereby I find my body refreshed and comforted for performing the duties of this day,
in which I beseech thee to defend me from all perils of body and soul

Increase my faith in the sweet promises of the gospel;
give me repentance from dead works; pardon my wanderings,
and direct my thoughts unto thyself, the God of my salvation;
teach me how to live in thy fear, labor in thy service,
and ever to run in the ways of thy commandments;
make me always watchful over my heart, that neither the terrors of conscience,
the loathing of holy duties, the love of sin, nor an unwillingness to depart this life,
may cast me into a spiritual slumber,
but daily frame me more and more into the likeness of thy son Jesus Christ,
that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor,
I may in thy appointed time attain the resurrection of the just unto eternal life
bless my family, friends, and kindred.
Grant our supplications, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

A prayer adapted from of prayer by Ft Francis of Assisi  from the Book of Common Prayer link

Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

Scripture Reading:  Matthew 14:22-33 (NASB Bible Gateway)

Jesus Walks on the Water

 Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away.  After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.  But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary.  And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear.  But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”

Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”  And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” When they got into the boat, the wind stopped. And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”

A prayer for peace in our world-The Church of England link

Make your ways known upon earth, Lord God,
your saving power among all peoples.
Renew your Church in holiness
and help us to serve you with joy.
Guide the leaders of all nations,
that justice may prevail throughout the world.
Let not the needy be forgotten,
nor the hope of the poor be taken away.
Make us instruments of your peace
and let your glory be over all the earth.
Amen

A familiar benediction sung by Matt Redman.
Matt was abused as a child and found comfort in Jesus as a young teen.

  1. I didn’t make it to TWW service but for anyone who reads this please pray for my family at this time, especially my husband, as a family member close to him seems to be coming near to the end of their time on earth.
