Dee Coming to Baltimore Next Week

I am currently setting up times to meet with folks, preferably around eating at wonderful restaurants and food trucks. If we can plan to meet in some fashion so it is not on the other side of DC,  I would sure appreciate it. We must stay in Baltimore due to a conference my husband is attending. Please email me: dee@thewartburgwatch.com

Dee Coming to Baltimore Next Week — 50 Comments

  1. Oh! Oh! I’m 30 miles south of Baltimore. I met you last year at the Red Hot & Blue when you were in Northern Virginia. What part of Baltimore will you be in?

  2. Darn it, I’m in Baltimore this week! 🙂

When are you coming to the UK? I’m 50 miles from London & prepared to meet you at Heathrow with a ‘distinct’ sign made for the occasion.

  3. @ Ian:
    @ Beakerj:
I am on my husband’s case about brining me to your lovely island! When that happens, I hope sooner rather than later, I shall be up for a night on the town with you!

Beaker! Darn- missed you-so close and yet so far.!

‘Twas but a joke Dee…I don’t fly so definitely wasn’t in Baltimore 🙂Ian wrote:

I can beat you – 8 miles from Heathrow !!

Ian, my sign will still be better (read more scandalous) than yours…

  5. come to the west coast we have better attractions! see mt rainier, the space needle and get a tour of mars hill refuge <marky and then you can visit Janet 🙂 you east coasters geeez

  6. @ Corbin:

@Janet. Where about in California? My hometown in Fresno. That is where I grew up. If you are nearby I’d love to meet you when I get back in Fresno.

  7. Janet wrote:

Your hubby should seriously attend a conference in sunny California.

I was going to suggest the same last night. I have to add southern to Cali though 😉

  8. @ Beakerj:
If your in London this summer, I will be near-isn. Oxford, would love to meet you too. If not this summer, near Vancouver, B.C. the rest of the year.

  9. In other news, Novak Djokovic joined the exclusive club of career-Grand-Slam-winners today, securing his first French Open title with a straight-sets victory over an out-of-sorts Rafa.

It’s a shame Rafa has struggled to return from injury, because an in-form Djokovic against an in-form Nadal at Roland Garros would have been a terrific match.

  10. On the other hand, I have it on good authority that we may be wishing you fĂ ilte gu Alba reasonably soon.

  11. Did you put the dates in there? I’m assuming you’re there during the week days? That would eliminate me, since I”m in D.C. for work.

Form your lips to God’s ear. Do I still have to eat haggis? I mean I promised and all but mercy!

Sign suggestion: “Welcome ‘Satin’, daughter of ‘Stan'” Do it in fabric with fake jewels. Tweet it!

    Respectfully submitted,

“Velour”, Sister in Christ to “Satin” (sic)

  14. @ dee:
A city where you will always have a place to stay, Dee. Deb, too — and your respective husbands if they so choose. Imbi and I will be glad to have you all.

  15. @ Nick Bulbeck:
Nick what part of Scotland do you live in? I was lucky enough to be able to spend a week in Great Britain when I was 15 and we spent half our time based out of Stirling bouncing all over what we could pack in. Beautiful country and funnily enough almost everyone looked like cousins (my last name is Craig, descendant of some Ulster Scots).

  16. If you arrive early enough, David Platt, famous Calvinist head of the SBC missions board, will be speaking this Sunday morning at former SGM Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I don’t know what this says about his view of CLC leadership, but it may be worth investigating.

  17. I live very close to Baltimore, and am familiar with the city, as I went to school there. I hope to meet up! @dee, I sent an email to you.

  18. @ Val:
Hey Val, What will you be doing in lovely Oxford? I won’t be in London intentionally this summer but do live in an extremely quaint little village about 50 miles outside London if you fancy a day trip?

So many ideas, so little time…. Hmmm.

I just wanted you to beat Ian in the sign department!

By the way, if you were a fabric, what would you be? One of our lovely hostesses was named “Satin” (sic) by someone who took offense at her advocacy here at TWW. Thus, I have adopted the code name “Velour”.

  21. Yes, a powwow in the Great Pacific Northwest! Spread yourself around. 🙂

Hey, Val, looks like you are near Vancouver too. Pop me an email via my website.

When I logged on this morning, one of the surrounding wi-fi was “NovakDjokofish”.

  23. Yo’ dee, if ya’ can, get me some nice whitefish from that famous fish market there in Baltimore so I can make a nice fish stew like they make in Sicily.
