Here is our order of worship

An Easter prayer link

Dear Father:

When everything was dark
and it seemed that the sun would never shine again,
your love broke through.

Your love was too strong,
too wide,
too deep
for death to hold.

The sparks cast by your love
dance and spread
and burst forth
with resurrection light.

Gracious God,
We praise you for the light of new life
made possible through Jesus.
We praise you for the light of new life
that shone on the first witnesses of resurrection.
We praise you for the light of new life
that continues to shine in our hearts today.

We pray that the Easter light of life, hope and joy,
will live in us each day;
and that we will be bearers of that light
into the lives of others.
Amen.

Easter Prayer of St. Hippolytus of Rome (190-236 AD) link

Christ is Risen: The world below lies desolate
Christ is Risen: The spirits of evil are fallen
Christ is Risen: The angels of God are rejoicing
Christ is Risen: The tombs of the dead are empty
Christ is Risen indeed from the dead,
the first of the sleepers,
Glory and power are his forever and ever
Amen

Scripture Reading:  Genesis 37:25-28  (NASB Bible Gateway)

Then they sat down to eat a meal. And as they raised their eyes and looked, behold, a caravan of Ishmaelites was coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing aromatic gum and balm and myrrh, on their way to bring them down to Egypt.  Judah said to his brothers, “What profit is it for us to kill our brother and cover up his blood?  Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him, for he is our brother, our own flesh.” And his brothers listened to him. Then some Midianite traders passed by, so they pulled him up and lifted Joseph out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. Thus they brought Joseph into Egypt.

Prayer of Thanksgiving from the Church of England link

Blessed are you, Lord God of our salvation,
to you be praise and glory for ever.
As once you ransomed your people from Egypt
and led them to freedom in the promised land,
so now you have delivered us from the dominion of darkness
and brought us into the kingdom of your risen Son.
May we, the first fruits of your new creation,
rejoice in this new day you have made,
and praise you for your mighty acts.
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Blessed be God for ever.
Amen

Easter Virtues Prayer link

O Lord,
the Resurrection of Your Son
has given us new life and renewed hope.
Help us to live as new people
in pursuit of the Christian ideal.
Grant us the wisdom to know what we must do,
the will to want to do it,
the courage to undertake it,
the perseverance to continue to do it,
and the strength to complete it.
Amen.

Benediction link

Go into your week
with your ears pitched
to the sound of God’s voice calling your name.

Go into your week
with your eyes peeled
for the face of Jesus in unexpected places.

Go into your week
with your soul poised
to receive the Spirit of God,
the Spirit of Peace.

Amen!

  1. Wade,

Thank you for your special remarks to our online community. It was so kind of you to address our readers in such a personal way. Even though I regularly attend a local church, I do feel very much a part of the Emmanuel Enid community. I am so grateful that you and your congregation allow us to share your sermons here at EChurch.

I believe your weekly messages have been a balm for our readers. We know that some in the TWW community who have withdrawn from church because of hurtful experiences have re-engaged in other churches due in large part to your teaching and encouragement. It has never been our intent to replace the organized church. We hope and pray that EChurch will be a place of healing for those who have been disenfranchised.

Thank you for your deep concern for those in the TWW community who have been wounded by God's people, and I pray His continued blessings on your wonderful congregation.

…that would be me…but not disenfranchised by a church per se, but by members of my own family who have relegated me to the periphery. I’m so very grateful for EChurch and it has indeed been a place of comfort, healing, and encouragement.

I, too, wish to thank Wade for such a beautiful, personal message just for me!! smile… It brought tears to my eyes and not just little ones…

Deb and Dee, thanks so much for making this church available. The prayers and hymns are so special and appropriate to the days message. I’m appreciative of all of you!

  3. @ Victorious:

You are such an encouragement to us, and I always enjoy reading under our EChurch posts how Wade's sermons have made an impact.

Please know that I am praying for you as you deal with being disenfranchised from those who should love you the most – your family. 🙁

  4. Thanks to Dee and Deb for putting this together, I have learned much from this body of believers.

Wade, Thanks for allowing your messages to be broadcast here. I have listened to many of your studies and always look forward to the new Wednesday night studies being posted on your website. To me it has been such a freeing experience, Let me say I get where you are coming from. Daniel, Revelation, Eternal Rewards and Judgments are great studies. Thanks for putting them up.

    Kevin

  5. Wade, Thank-you for you pastoral concern for those of us who frequent Wartburg Watch. What you are doing does make a difference. Thank-you and God bless.

  6. Thanks Deb, Victorious, Kevin and Michael – for your participation and comments. Kevin, glad to hear you take advantage of the podcasts of our Wednesday night studies. I enjoy those more than I do Sundays.

  7. This is my first echurch experience and I my heart has been deeply touched…thank you so very much…

  8. @ ex-CTer:
