Here is our Order of Worship

Psalm 100 (link)

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

Scripture Reading:  Genesis 50:20 (NASB Bible Gateway)

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.

 A week after Resurrection Sunday, we are featuring an inspiring message by Pastor Wade Burleson:  Saved from Hell in a Cozumel Jail.  Wade shares with his congregation a harrowing experience which occurred in March 2011. The heart of Wade's message has everything to do with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  May you be inspired to share God's love with those who do not know Him!  Wade also wrote a blog post about this difficult ordeal.

Isaiah 53:3-5 (link)

He was despised and rejected by mankind,
    a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
    he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

Surely he took up our pain
    and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
    stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
    as we also have forgiven our debtors.
 And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.

Matthew 6:9-13

Father, thank you that you have revealed Your love to us today.
We invite You to send us out from here in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Fan into flame the gifts that you have given us,
Come reveal Your grace and truth to us each day.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory,
Forever and ever.

Amen

  1. I think this is the third time I’ve listened to this story and have been equally blessed each time. There are too many circumstances to mention, but this time I was so blessed by Wade’s relating his forgetting the words to the second stanza of Amazing Grace and the Holy Spirit providing them. I once experienced the same when a congregation of about 400 spontaneously began singing in the spirit…each praising the Lord in song using their own words and yet in perfect harmony.

    Thank you, Deb for EChurch along with beautiful hymns and prayers and thank you, Wade for providing the weekly, always inspirational “talk.” 🙂

  2. Thank you Wade, so good. I can’t wait to share this sermon with our friends who we shared a rental car with on Cozemel. We were with that same ship also. I had no idea what could happen.

    Also, you have been for me such a representation of what unity in Christ looks like, having bad experiences from different extreme groups regarding secondary issues within our faith you have helped me a lot.
