A Prayer for Strength and Wisdom link

Thank you, Lord, for being there for me and allowing me to cry out to you in my times of need.
It is amazing to me that the Lord of the Universe would take time to listen to me and to care about what I say.
God, there are things happening around me right now that I do not understand.
Some of these things make me feel weak, helpless and afraid.
Even in the midst of this, I know that you are the Lord.
I know that the situation is in Your hand, and I trust You.
I beseech you for strength and for wisdom that I would be able to endure this situation
and be able to handle it in a way that would bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit Regarding Anxiety

"O Holy Spirit, give me stillness of soul in you.
Calm the turmoil within, with the gentleness of your peace.
Quiet the anxiety within, with a deep trust in you.
Heal the wounds of sin within, with the joy of your forgiveness.
Strengthen the faith within, with the awareness of your presence.
Confirm the hope within, with the knowledge of your strength.
Give fullness to the love within, with an outpouring of your love.
O Holy Spirit, be to me a source of light, strength and courage
so that I may hear your call ever more clearly
and follow you more generously."

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:22 (NASB Bible Gateway)

By faith Joseph, when he was dying, made mention of the exodus of the sons of Israel, and gave orders concerning his bones.

Prayer of St. Benedict link

O gracious and holy Father,
give us wisdom to perceive you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to behold you,
a heart to meditate upon you,
and a life to proclaim you;
through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen

Thank you for spending your precious time worshipping the Lord.
Go in the knowledge that you are truly loved By the King of Creation!

  1. While Sundays (for me) are restful, they are also boring…except for that I get to attend e-church. 🙂

The story of Joseph is awesome. I have often pondered what that encounter between Joseph and his brothers must have been like. It certainly could have turned out very differently had Joseph harbored bitterness and hatred in his heart toward them. So much to think about.

Thank you again Wade, Deb, and Dee for this ministry. It blesses my soul.

  2. Hi Dee and Deb,

I have a prayer request and am hoping that you two would be willing to pray. I am in the process of seeking to remarry a wonderful God-fearing Catholic. However, I was previously married years ago and my former spouse abandoned our marriage. As a result I have to petition the Catholic church for an Annulment. Because I wish to marry a Catholic. Anyway, the situation has more complexity than I feel I should get into on here (and I am hoping that this is okay to ask for prayer for this). That being the case, I am feeling overwhelmed by the whole process. The diocese I am requesting this through has not been helpful, some of my conservative friends have been very condemning to me as I have spoken to them about this. The Catholic I hope to marry has been a key means from the Lord in keeping me believing these last few years and yet I feel lost and, marginalized because of my decision to seek marriage again. Anyway, I need prayer from some people I feel like will not condemn me. I need the fellowship I have experienced on here in the past. If you feel free to pray please pray for four things 1) That the Catholic diocese would grant me an annulment in a timely manner. (We have been together for years and seeking to honor God by being celibate, but the diocese is saying we may have to wait for 20 months. Please pray this would be more like 6 months. 2) Pray that my conservative friends would not condemn me with stale theology, but they would see the fruit that has come about as a result of the relationship 3) Pray that God would grant peace and confirm if I should marry. 4) Pray that the hardness of heart and cynicism that I feel toward The church in general would be softened and that I would have a soft overflowing heart of love and joy.

  3. Enjoyed hearing, ‘There is a Balm in Gilead’. I was in need of it yesterday AM.
The sermon on,’Dem Bones’, was good teaching!
Been lurking on this site for a while but first time I went to E church.

  4. Silent Observer,

Thank you for trusting us with your prayer request. Please know that I will be praying for you.

  5. Lin,

So glad you enjoyed Wade’s sermon, and welcome to EChurch! The upcoming message is even better. Hope you’ll visit again.

  6. Silent observer

I am so grateful that you have asked for our prayers. I know that many will pray for you. If you were abandoned, in general, except for extremely legalistic evangelicals, most would believe that you are allowed to remarry. Although I am not Catholic, it is my understanding that abandonment is cause for an annulment. May God give you peace during this time.

Folks: Join me in praying for “silent observer.”

  7. Just because you filed a law suit does not mean you will win annthiyg. Sometimes people file lawsuits and are awarded nothing. If you have filed a lawsuit that means you probably have an attorney. In which case, you need to discuss your situation with your attorney and see what he/she advises. You will be paying your attorney a very large part of any settlement/award you get. Therefore, let your attorney earn his/her money. Ask your attorney.

  8. Daniel

“Just because you filed a law suit does not mean you will win anything” What does wining mean to you? Money? Could winning be something else? Like exposure?
