Welcome to Our Gathering of EChurch@Wartburg

Here is our order of worship

An African Prayer link
O Lord, we beseech thee to deliver us
from the fear of an unknown future;
from fear of failure; from fear of poverty;
from fear of bereavement; from fear of loneliness;
from fear of sickness and pain;
from fear of age; from fear of death.
Help us, O Father, by thy grace to love and fear thee only,
fill our hearts with cheerful courage and loving trust in thee:
through our Lord and Master Jesus Christ.

A Prayer by Peter Marshall link
Lord, teach us to pray. Some of us are not skilled in the art of prayer.
As we draw near to you in thought, our spirits long for your Spirit, and reach out for you, longing to feel you near.
We know not how to express the deepest emotions that lie hidden in our hearts.
In these moments, we have no polished phrases with which to impress one another, no finely molded, delicately turned clauses to present to you.
Nor would we be confined to conventional petitions and repeat our prayers like the unwinding of a much-exposed film.
We know, our Father, that we are closest to you when we have left behind the things that have held us captive so long
We would not be ignorant in prayer and, like children, make want lists for you.
Rather, we pray that you will give unto us only what we really need.
We would not make our prayers the importuning of you, an omnipotent God, to do what we want you to do.
Rather, give us the vision, the courage, that shall enlarge our horizons and stretch our faith to the adventure of seeking your loving will for our lives
We thank you that you are hearing us even now. We thank you for the grace of prayer.
We thank you for yourself. Amen.

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 10:39 (NASB Bible Gateway)

But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

The LORD bless you and keep you;

The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;

The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.

Amen Numbers 6:24

Thank you for spending your precious time worshipping the Lord.

  1. This doesn’t pertain to the current discussion, but I wanted to tell everyone that the book “Favorite Wife: Escape From Polygamy” by Susan Schmidt is only $2.99 on Kindle right now! It’s an interesting read!

  2. Thank you all for another truly wonderful service! I especially loved the Mighty Fortress hymn!

  3. I believe that Wade is preaching this one for me. I have never heard God’s grace and my faith preached like this before. I thank God that he is using Wade to not only touch me, but so many others. Thank you Dee & Deb for listening to God as he planted this website in your hearts.

    p.s. I listen to E-Church now at work during lunch. I just realized today that some co-workers can’t help but hear it too!!

  4. Pastor Wade,

    You gave a good sermon. One of my teachers who taught me when I was in Bible College said “the 153 fish represent 153 categories of fish known to man at that time, and also figuratively represent all peoples, tribes, tongues, nations… that will be in the kingdom.” What do you think?
