Liberty University Leaders-Can You Answer Your Student’s Question?

A political programme can never in reality be more than probably right. We never know all the facts about the present and we can only guess the future. To attach to a party programme – whose highest real claim is to reasonable prudence – the sort of assent which we should reserve for demonstrable theorems, is a kind of intoxication.     C S Lewis

Although we normally do not post on Wednesday, this comment was thoughtful and poignant. I challenge the leaders at Liberty University to answer this question. But, they won't. They are too "important" to care about such matters raised by Christian bloggers.  When the secular media looks in, they hop right to it. Sadly, they won't answer their Christian critics. And perhaps this is the answer to his student's question. Politics means far more to their mission than the faith. I wonder what Jesus would say?

"As a current Liberty student who has learned how to reason my Christian faith, and recognize false religions and cults, I am shocked and very confused as to why Glenn Beck was invited to speak this year. It would be questionable if Mr. Beck’s faith was considered “religious” with different beliefs than true Christianity but it is just plain wrong when those differences are considered a cult by top professors and department heads at Liberty! I mean no disrespect, I am honestly confused and must question what I thought I knew in terms of where so much of my money is going in the name of receiving a solid Christian education."
