BEDLAM IN THE WORD OF FAITH CROWD

We haven’t mentioned Kenneth Hagin up to this point, but he is often referred to as the “father” (or “granddaddy”) of the Word of Faith movement.  According to his Wikipedia article, “Many of his followers often refer to him affectionately as ‘Daddy Hagin’ or ‘Pappa Hagin’.”  Hagin died on September 19, 2003.  We will likely discuss his significant influence next week.

Now let’s take a candid look at Hagin in action at one of his meetings.  Please pay particular attention to one of his disciples, Kenneth Copeland, who is wearing a khaki suit and red shirt.

Here’s what happend when someone is “slain in the spirit” — a common occurence at Benny Hinn events.  Take a look at two videos featuring Hinn.  We plan to discuss this topic in an upcoming post.

Stay tuned next week when we will tackle several of the theological heresies that are being taught in the Word of Faith movement.

BEDLAM IN THE WORD OF FAITH CROWD — 4 Comments

  1. The videos are playing at a faster speed than normal, so it gives that appearance. The people know that someone is supposed to catch them when they fall; however, there have been mishaps over the years which have resulted in physical injuries. LAW SUITS were filed against Benny Hinn’s ministry, and I believe they settled out of court.

So here’s the question — if Hinn is such a faith healer, why in the world did his ministry have to pay big bucks for injuries that resulted from followers being slain in the spirit? Was it because they “didn’t have enough faith”?

  2. O.K., so why isn’t this guy playing in the NFL? He would be the best lineman (offense or defense) He could slay people in the spirit AND he could earn a lot of money to fund his ministry.

    This stuff speaks for itself.

Have you seen the movie Borat where he goes to a charismatic church?

  3. What a funny comment! I hadn’t thought of that before. How about the Worldwide Wrestling Federation?

No, I haven’t seen the movie Borat. I’d love to see it! Where can I find it?
